NFL telecast outdated?
Posted on September 19, 2010 at 06:40 PM.
How we view our NFL games on television has baffled me for about 10 years. When we view an NFL football telecast the view is presented from a horizontal vantage point, similar to the view point used in Tecmo Bowl. The only down side to this- is that we the viewers miss out on the all important battle between offensive line and defensive line, and we also fail to see the interaction between wide receiver and cornerback. Last year, I went out on a limb and chose to get end zone tickets vs 50 yard line tickets at the cowboys game and it lead to a more enjoyable experience. I was able to see a greater number of position battles that a horizontal view point fails to capture. My question to my fellow operation sports users: is the horizontal/ tecmo bowl view point outdated for NFL television and wouldn't it make sense to give the viewer the option to view the telecast from a vertical perspective similar to the Madden camera...... In my opinion, I believe this needs to be addressed asap. The way we view football telecast are outdated in my opinion, but maybe it's just me. Let's sound off and start a movement to give viewers (are at the very least madden gamers) the option to view our telecast the same way we play.
