Its that time of year again...

While most of the free world ramps up to take the Madden holiday a month from now, I'll be taking mine Tuesday for the release of NCAA Football 11.

The NCAA Football franchise has always been the game that captures my imagination and stokes my football fire. There's something special to me about being able to choose from 120 different teams, recreate rivalries past and present, and build a contender from nothing. Madden doesn't offer that opportunity to me anymore. The historical teams are gone, the atmosphere isn't compelling, and the game's namesake barely makes an appearance. It seems strange to say, but I still enjoy NFL Head Coach more than I've enjoyed the last couple of Maddens.

I will be the first to admit that NCAA has been somewhat of a disappointment on this generation of console. We've endured questionable game play choices, stale commentary, and poor presentation among other things. It seems strange that the developers have only now been able to implement many of the features that gamers have been clamoring for since the console advance. However, a flawed past won't stop me from plunking down my copy of the previous year's game and a fist of cash at midnight to pick up a brand new copy.

With you on this one, I used to love NCAA but gave up on it, now Madden has is really pushing me away with its lack of give us what we really want. From what I have read about this NCAA, and the demo. This will be the greatest release yet. The dynasty wire is going to bring so much to online play esp is someone cheeses the whole group will be able to read about it. Tuesday can't come soon enough.
