Just announced over on engadget!! this means soon enough NFL 2k5 will soon be able to be played on our ps4s!!! before getting rosters and doing edits was easier if you had an xbox..but now!! think of the possibilities!!

we as a community can come together and create amazing rosters with global editers and will now be able to share them so easily!!

Man, I swear...all I could think about was NFL 2K5 when I saw the announcement. Even though I still own both a phat PS2 and 60GB PS3 phat, it's just good to know that there's the potential that this classic can be extended to the PS4 without having to swap out consoles.

yea i am so excited!! I honestly think this will also allow people to try to test more with how attributes affect gameplay. for example in madden 12 i found that matching acceleration with speed changed how the players moved and acted. I wonder if there will be something like this for nfl 2k that could be discovered! i ordered my copy yesterday on amazon!

i dont think youll see NFL2k5 on the PS4, because of who owns the NFL license. releasing an older game would most likely fall under the category of a re-issue.

what would be sweet thoough is if 2k re-issues APF2k8 and makes the entire thing mod-able with no restrictions

Its not a reissue...its making ps2 games able to run on the ps4....all you do is take your nfl 2k5 disc on ps2...pop it in ps4..and it will play

So does that also mean that PS2 PAL games will be playable on the PS4?

I don't believe it has been confirmed that PS2 discs will be playable. I believe they will be playable via PlayStation Store but again I don't think the the physical disc copy has been confirmed. Hopefully it is but it wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't.
