First off, it is true. Griner does have a tremendous skill set. You dont earn what she has without having that. Not her fault she's 6'8'' playing against women who hover around 5'10'' (even thats tall for an average woman).
But to have Griner try and play in the NBA would almost be asinine. She doesnt have the strength or athleticism to play with guys at her height or position. I mean, think of guys like Chris Andersen, who dont really have an offensive skill set other than dunking....he would punish her. It would almost be embarassing for her because people would almost certainly celebrate any basket she can get. And whats not to say if she's does score, the guy she gave the bucket to is definitely going to want to get that back, so now you put a target on her back the size of the pacific ocean...I mean these guys are pros and won't be easy on her at all.
If Cuban is serious, he keeps it only at the summer league level, but other than that, I dont see how her game can translate to the NBA.
But what do you think? Can she play in the NBA? If so, what position would she play? Will there ever be a female with a decent enough game to someday play at the NBA level? Please leave your comments below and lets discuss this.

PF would be a good position for Griner?!?!? HAHAHAHA. Not in the NBA. What power forward can she cover in the league? She would be destroyed in anything other than a pickup game. To put it mildly, Reggie Evans is a mediocre PF at best, but he would thouroughly "man handle" Griner. Not to mention that Dirk, Blake, Tim Duncan, Bosh, D West, Zebo, and a million other names man the 4 spot in the NBA. Stop it with the fantasy people. She does not stand a chance against bigger, faster, stronger athletes that run the NBA.

Mens and womens basketball are almost completely different sports. Women can not be successful in mens basketball, they don't anticipate plays fast enoug and they are nowhere near athletic enough. A good mens basketball player in high school could look like a superstar in womens basketball.

When I read that this morning, I literally laughed. She could not be the 12th man on an NBA team. She's not tall or strong enough to play PF. She's not quick or athletic enough to play SF. She is a great women's basketball player and will make some money in the WNBA and overseas if she wants. Not a chance she could make an NBA roster.

She 6'8 so she wouldn't be up against birdmans she'd be up against the lebrons, kds, and melos which would be totally unfair to her

This would not be fair to her... Cuban would only be using her as a attraction (why idk it's not like dirk is going anywhere) but if he wants to give her a few million dollars to be something like a "circus freak" and she's ok with it I say get your money BG!

When I first heard about it I was thinking well why not give it a shot just to see if she can do it. Now that i have come to my senses I don't think it's a good idea at all for her. She's a great basketball player don't get me wrong but I honestly think she has little to no chance.

If you look at my handle you can figure out what I do for a living.
I have covered pro sports and been in locker rooms, and I can assure you all without a doubt that this could not, and will not, ever happen.
Any signing by Cuban or anyone else is nothing more than a stunt.
