STAFF CHANGES
With Byron Scott being one of the worst coaches in the league and his assistant not much better, I decided to fire both and sign a duo of Rick Carlisle and Steve Nash, who know each other from Nash's time with the Mavs. This will really give us a boost.

I tried aggressively to resign Wes Johnson but couldn't, and ended up signing Demarre Carroll, Kevin Seraphin and Mo Williams. Carroll is the ultimate three-and-D player, very ... Read More

In this entry I will write an account of the end of the season and the Draft.
With the worst record in the league (10-72), the Lakers of course didn't make the playoffs. In the West, the Blazers went on a nice run and faced the Spurs in the Conference Finals, losing in 7 games. San Antonio met the Heat, a team that unrealistically made the Finals after beating the Hawks and won 3 of the first 4 games against the Spurs. However, the Spurs rallied back and took the trophy, with Duncan being ... Read More

The Lakers made a final move at the deadline, consisting of Nick Young and a 2nd rounder going to the Nets in exchange for Bojan Bogdanovic and Sergey Karasev. This move frees up cap space and provides the team with two young wing players to work with. I cut Blair to free roster space.
Here is a breakdown of the roster as it is and a commentary on each player:

With the season started, I decided to trade Jordan Hill, Tarik Black and a 2nd round pick to the Bucks for John Henson and Jorge Gutierrez. Henson is not highly rated but I think he is a premier option at center both in 2K and in reality. He is an outstanding defender and rebounder who can pass and score in the low blocks with jump hooks. With the Lakers in need of a long term option at the position, I plan to give him the playing time he has been needing. He is also a great complement to Julius ... Read More
I decided to start a new Lakers MyLeague, since it is a very popular team with which it would be interesting to win a championship and maybe even build a dynasty with legendary players of the caliber of Kobe and Shaq.
Here are some details of the way I set up the League:
- Current Rosters
- No roster injuries
- 12 minute quarters
- High injury frequency, particularly career-ending
- Low player progression rate
- Low draft class quality ... Read More

The Bucks started the season strong going 4-0 in the first four meetings. The home opener against the Sixers and Lebron showed a very confident Bucks team. They got out in transition and found easy baskets for Bledsoe and Giannis. In the third quarter they had a comfortable lead thanks to the work of Jabari Parker. I played him in isolation a lot against Nerlens Noel, and succeeded. However, in the fourth Noel really started to dominate in the low block, with an improved offensive game and a knack ... Read More

The Draft ended and the Bucks had a really good young team. I entered free agency with the only objective of resigning Khris Middleton, whi had a breakout year and probably wanted a big contract. I had like 25 million in cap space so I was determined to pay whatever he asked. We agreed on a 4 year 36 million deal. I also resigned the rookie Johnny O'Bryant, who played well as a backup pick-and-pop big the season before, and I could use as cheap insurance for the upcoming season, in case a big gets ... I entered the last game of the season being the eighth seed in the East. I beat the Celtics in the last game but ended up tied with the Nets and Pacers for the 7th and 8th spots. I had a losing record in the season matchups against both teams so, unexpectedly, Milwaukee fell out of the playoffs. The Hawks, who were the 1st seed, would probably have beaten us in 4 games so it didn't really make a difference.

After the deals I made I was waiting for MCW to return from a dislocated patella, so I could trade him and a pair of assets, in order to get a point guard I was comfortable with. The trade deadline came and I was giving strong consideration to Ty Lawson, the Nuggets want to get rid of him and I like his speed in the open court. He is also a much better shooter than MCW. However, I couldn't get a deal done before the deadline and ended up staying with Carter-Williams for the rest of the season. I ... Read More
I started a Bucks MyGM weeks ago and decided to make it a tough defensive team that can run and gun on offense just like the Steve Nash Suns teams, but with more athleticism. I decided I had to keep Giannis, Middleton, Jabari and Henson to from an athletic starting lineup with a PG I would trade for, because MCW, in my opinion, doesn't really fit the system, because he can't shoot and is pretty ...
