In the off-season, I wanted to work on both offense and defense. I started by trading Randy Moss to the Lions for a 2nd Round (45th overall draft pick) and a 2009 1st Round draft pick. Moss is a great player, but I felt that it was time to move on to younger and/or cheaper players. Then I traded for Nick Mangold from the Jets for a 2009 1st Round draft pick and a 20009 5th Round draft pick. Then I traded for Tanard Jackson from the Bucs forRodney Harrison, 2nd Round (62nd overall draft pick) and 5th Round (159th overall draft pick). My last two trades were for Marques Colston (New Orleans Saints WR) for Russ Hochstein, 45th overall draft pick and a 69th overall draft pick; and Shawne Merriman (San Diego Chargers ROLB) for Mike Vrabel, 2009 1st and 3rd Round draft picks.
Then I signed Jordan Gross for $37M with a $10M bonus over 5 years, I signed Michael Boley for $16M with a $2.5M bonus over 4 years, I signed Jason Elam for $5M with a $500K bonus over 2 years, I signed Donovin Darius for $5M with a $500K bonus over 1 year, I signed Mitch Berger for $1M with a $250K bonus over 1 year.

I drafted Ray Rice (2nd Round 49th pick), Xavier Omon (4th Round 148th pick)and Dwight Lowery (7th Round 224th pick).
