What's Next For The Kings?
There are a bunch of issues facing the Kings that need to be resolved. Here, I'll break down exactly what needs to happen next if the Kings hope to turn the tables and start this season off right.
- A coaching switch may be needed. Dropping this badly at the beginning of the season isn't a good sign. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some changes behind the scenes.
- You need Tyreke Evans to be on all cylandars every game. Whether Westphal will admit it or not, he's their star player. You need him performing.
- Get a three-point shooter! Out of the 30 teams in the NBA, Kings are ranked 21st in 3PT shooting, shooting only .303
- They need to work on defense. Nearly half the points they give up are on the fast break or in the paint.
- They need to stop the other team from scoring somehow. There are only three teams that have gave up more points per game than the Kings have.
- Figure out the PG spot. We've seen someone different start there every game. None of them can drain the three.
Expect to see some of these things adressed in games to come. So here's what's going right for the Kings so far.
- Kings have a 5-game home stand coming up.
- They are getting really good production off the bench from Casspi and Jeter.
- They are passing the ball well, being the third best assisting team in the league.
- Keep their big man doing what they are doing. They are tied for the most blocks per games with the Spurs.
- They have size down-low, they just need to use it.
