We know that the Oregon Ducks can score but can they play defense? In the first half against the 0-8 Florida A&M Rattlers, the Ducks scored 79 points but let FAMU score 50. The score got as close to 13 with 13 minutes left, as the Rattlers stormed back to get it to 84-97. The Ducks managed to win after an incredible game by Ryan Wilson. 50 points, 9 rebounds,8 assists. But struggled to find his shot and only shot 37 percent for the game and 39% from 3. Tony Woods had a career-night for Oregon, 22 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks.Hanif Radziejewski had 15 points off the bench and Garrett Sim had 17 points and 9 assists. The final score, 127-115. This was without-a-doubt the best game that Florida A&M(0-10) has played all year. The Ducks(6-4) may be able to win now, but when it comes time to play teams like North Carolina, which they do in a week, they will need to pick up the defensive efforts they have shown throughout the beginning of this season.
For the Rattlers, they were led by a career high 44 points and 9 rebounds by the shooting guard, Joah Spong. Isaac Brown had 28 points and 19 assists, and Amin Stevens with26 points, 5 rebounds, and 5 assists.

The 4-4 Oregon Ducks meet the 3-1 Rice Owls in Houston, Texas.
The Oregon Ducks thought that it would be an easy game against Rice. For the most part it was. Except the end. Oregon would hold on to win 102-99 but not after a feisty Owls run that tied the game up at 90. Ryan Wilson had a bad game shooting the ball. He was 18-48 from the field at 5-17 from 3, but finished with 48 points. Three Ducks scored in double digits, Wilson, Wells, and Singler. The Owls were led by star shooting guard, Julian DeBose and his 46 points. The win feels good for Oregon after losing its past 2 contests against Iowa State and Texas A&M, and moves the team past .500 to 5-4. Meanwhile the loss makes two on the Rice season, 3-2 is their record. The main reason Rice kept it close was due to the poor free throw shooting of the Oregon Ducks. They shot 42% from the stripe as a team.

This was the scene at tonight's basketball game.
The Oregon Ducks men's basketball team are feeling relieved. Playing at Appalachian State, they should of beaten up on the Mountaineers, right?
Well they pulled out the win, but not after a tough outing with Appalachian State (0-2). The game was tied at 47 going into halftime and looked like ASU had all the momentum in the world. But without playing any substitutions the entire game, the starters eventually got tired and let the game slip away from them. Their leading scorer was Jay Canty with 35 points. For the Ducks (2-0), Ryan Wilson recorded his first career triple-double with 30 points, 12 rebounds and 11 assists. Carlos Emory, who didn't play in the season opener against E. Tennessee St., did play today. He went scoreless in 12 minutes of play time. The MVP of this game has to go to Ryan Wilson for his 30/12/11 game.

The Oregon Ducks easily tasted success for the first time since losing to Arizona State in the Pacific-12 Tournament last March. The Ducks defeated Eastern Tennessee State 97-63 on Thursday night in Eugene.
Ryan Wilson led the Ducks in scoring with 24 to kick off his sophomore campaign after winning conference Freshmen of the year the previous year. Oregon shot 50% for the game while holding E. Tenn. State to 43% shooting. The assists-turnover ratio was the key factor. The Buc's had a 1:2 assists-turnover ratio, in a 40 Minute game, that's a lot of turnovers per assists. While Oregon had a 22-13 ratio.
Darrian Wells, the top incoming Freshman for the Ducks registered 16 points in his college debut. E.J. Singler added 23 points for the Ducks as they move to 1-0 on the new season.

The Oregon Ducks are excited about this upcoming college basketball season as they are one of the favorites in the Pac-10. In the preseason polls, voters think Oregon is the 23rd best team in the NCAA. They come into this season having the 30th best recruiting class that includes the 19th ranked player and High School All American Darrian Wells from Eugene, OR. And with the emergence of Ryan Wilson, who won Pac-10 Freshman of the Year honors last year, the sky is the limit for the Oregon Ducks. And having returned 4 starters from last year helps also.
They also feature a tough non-conference schedule with playing Duke and North Carolina both at home. They will be playing in the Orange County Shootout in November and will play Santa Clara in the first round. Also, they will have to travel down to Vanderbilt to play their last game before the Conference schedule starts out. And with a tough Pac-12 Conference this year it may be challenging, but anything can happen in sports.

The Oregon Ducks who were ranked 5th to start the season. The will not make the NCAA Tournament. The Ducks had one of the top recruiting classes featuring 6'6" Shooting Guard Ryan Wilson, who will likely be the PAC-10 Freshman of the Year.
Their season came to a disappointing end Wednesday night as the Ducks played the Arizona State Sun Devils in the first round of the Pacific-10 Tournament. The loss likely ends Oregon's season at 13-17.
Oregon already has a great recruiting class coming in for the next season with All-American Darrian Wells (19th overall recruit) from Eugene, Oregon and Hanif Radziejewski (84th overall recruit) from Chandler, Arizona. Both players were their "Mr. Basketball" for their respective state.
