The problem is David Stern!!
The past 10yrs he has implemented all these different rules; dress code, must talk to the media, hand checking, call more techs, flagrant fouls, etc...
International players start playing pro at age 14 and are taught how to play the game. College players must play one year before going into the NBA.
To many players flop today with no consequences at all. The NBA goes back and look at all the fouls and determine if it is a flagrant one or two. Flopping fouls should be techs to get rid of them.

^^IMO, the hand check rule was one of the best rule changes. The game is more free flowing now, reminiscent to the 80s style of basketball. more scoring with just enough defense.
Dress Code, the older I get the more I understand it. these are professional ball players, they are adults, and are part of big business. Last thing Id want is these players spoiling my brand.
case in point, Allen Iverson, love the guys game, but he was everything wrong with being a professional. he never matured- that was his problem, street cred seemed to be more important to him than , being a professional.
your mentality at age 21 should not be the same at age 31. he had 10 plus years to put it together but he never did. alot of players his age made the transition to being a true professional without an isssue.
Im all for the changes David Stern has made, except this new technical foul rule (cant show emotion), which I believe will be tossed before this season ends.
Dacid Stren has done a good job with the NBA and its brand image.

I don't know... with everything going great for the Knicks for the first time in a while I just can't get into it... I do like the post season where everyone is playing hard..... why is that in the regular season when a player gets hit hard while taking it to the rack it's called "a playoff foul"? play like that all the time.... and we all can say "I Love This Game" again.
