My Yankees beat the Rays 6-5. We were up 6-2 in the 8th the Rays put a came back and made it 6-5, but Rivera closed the door in the 9th. The second was a tough game against the Mets. I scored 1 run in the first inning and that was it. Phil Hughes pitched a shutout. To the Mets credit they killed any rally that I tried to start. The big rally killer was,with one out, Francoeur threw out Jeter trying to score from home. I didn't think Hughes could go the distance,but he did. He threw 115 pitches and struck out 9.
