There is a reason the two people you mentioned also believe MJ is the GOAT. And you are obviously a Laker fan lol

No one wanted it more then Jordan. I watch that man take over so many games at will. Both players you mention have lost in the Finals. Shaq was a liability in close games due to extremely poor free throw shooting. Jordan also beat Magic in the Finals. Granted Johnson was at the tailgate of his career. That shouldn't matter too much though because Jordan in his prime was still better then Magic. Jordan also had a killer post-up game, and demoralized people that guarded him. Gary Payton was the only guy I saw that did OK against him, and GP is consider one of the greatest defenders that has played. Jordan > ALL.

I think you don't know what you're talking about and that I am wastin my time even responding to this mess.

Are you insane? Jordan is absolutlety the G.O.A.T. He hit game winning, buzzer beating shot's as if it was a hobby. Not to mention the fact that he led the bulls to several titles. I dont know how you can question his greatness

see seaduke24's response... i fall in line with his thoughts. Michael "AIR" Jordan is the greatest basketball player of all time in my humble opinion. So far....
How many other players in the leaugue demoralized other GREAT players night in and night out?

I seriously hate the Lakers right now. LOL. I am not a die hard fan of any team at this point. My city doesn't have a Basketball team. I am doomed to love the Chiefs and Royals.

trobinson97 I never said I was right or wrong that is just my opion. If you were going to be silly why did you waste your time responding?

greenbull50 Magic had 5 titles and a college national championship. Wilt has 11 titles he is not the G.O.A.T and Barkley and Malone have 0 titles but they are still great. But, you points are well taken

LOL You just told 3 jokes.....Michael Jordan should not EVER be mentioned in the same sentence as Shaq......Magic is GREATNESS!!! But he was/is not better than Jordan. Jordan is the most clutch player in history. There is only one player who can come close to being mentioned in the same breath as MJ and that is Bill Russell.

bigsmallwood: ".....Michael Jordan should not EVER be mentioned in the same sentence as Shaq" - My sentiments exactly. Skrait BLASPHEMY!!
robinsnestkc: Yea, Shaq was not even one of the great centers, imo, let alone entering him into a NBA G.O.A.T convo. Uh-uh. I can goto town on why Shaq sucks and is overrated, not just imo, but when compared to actual great centers who DIDN'T need to bowl you over with offensive fouls that usually were never called along with weak post moves that usually only worked because he would foul his defender. Lol. Not to mention lack of sizeable centers to provide comp to his 300lb+ 7ft 1 frame....and don't let me bring up Hakeem The Dream! Lol.
As for the Magic Johnson thing, I could see that when compared to a Jordan. It's all in what you value more in a player. Magic was possibly the greatest multipositon player of all time. His b-ball IQ was INSANE! Jordan just did something to the game that Magic couldn't do, though, that was describable yet indescribable. His moves and amount of air when playing above the rim was dynamic. He could dominate a game like no other, at will. Dropping 39 against Utah while obviously sick was UNBELIEVABLE! The man's drive was, uhh, SICK!! Lol.

Okay
Statistically, Shaq is one of the best players in the history of the game.
His field goal percentage, ppg, rpg, in the modern basketball era have the highest level of dominance when comparing to his counterparts each game.
Shaq for some reason gets overlooked by fans because of his size, but shaq is one of the greatest players ever to play the game
with that said, what michael jordan has over any player ever is his mental ability to win.
Michael jordan was not the best shooter in his time, Larry Bird was.
Michael was not the best at anything really
but if became a competition, he would win....
Michael Jordan believed every shot he took would go in, and that he was supposed to win everytime he played, losing was not acceptable or understandable to michael jordan
that is what made him the best. He thought he was unstoppable, and made everyone else think the same.

MJ is the best to ever lace 'em up. Without question. His desire is what sets him apart. It always seemed to me that he wanted it more than anyone else. He wanted not only to defeat his opponents, but to completely annihilate them. Not just in big games, but in every game.
