So you just won the Stanley Cup...what do you do w/ your team next? If you are Jimmy McGinty, GM of the LA Kings, then you take a hard look at your team and take a sledgehammer to it!!! Rebuild it w/ only the best players using guile to get the most from opposing GMs.

Satan and Greene to VAN, Megatron to LA - Satan just never fit. i was going to get rid of him at the trading deadline last year but Mike said to give him til the end of the season to straighten out...he never did. Greene was expendable and i wanted to upgrade our entire defense. Megatron is a huge upgrade.

D-Wayne Simmonds

re-signed Stoll, Bourque, D-Wayne, Duchene - last 3 were restricted. Bourque and Duchene were signed to use as trade bait.

Matt Duchene

M.Bison

Matt Duchene back to COL, M. Bison and a d-man prospect to LA - as i mentioned about the pathetic 3rd line, i decided to look for defensive-minded forwards to rebuild this line. i mean, i thought we DID have defensive minded players here but it just had zero chemistry. wanted to get grinder types. not to mention Bison is one of the best penalty killers/checkers in the NHL (jay experienced his marking first-hand).

Tallchief and 2018 1st rd pick to DET, Backbreaker Bane to LA - this was another huge upgrade. w/ Megatron, we have 2 #1 D-men as our 2nd pair.

Ray Bourque

Dark Knight Batman

Ray Bourque and D-man prospect to CHI, Dark Knight Batman to LA - Ray became expendable. didnt want him on the 3rd pair since he's too good and the 3rd pair doesnt get alot of ice time anyway.

Anze Kopitar

Jackson Briggs

Kopitar and 2016 2nd rd pick to STL, Jax Briggs to LA - in preparation for the bigger move ahead (due to the Stamkos stand-off), Kopitar also became expendable.

Jack Johnson

Chuck Norris

Jack Johnson and 2014 3rd rd pick to CAL, Chuck Norris and his Beard to LA - this was only a minor upgrade but the Beard puts it over the top.

Steven Stamkos

North Star Kenshiro

Tally-Ho Silverhawk

Stamkos to MIN, Kenshiro and Silverhawk and 2014 1st rd pick to LA - this was the blockbuster. did a sign & trade w/ Stamkos. he finally lowered his salary demands to 5 mil but only one year. screw him. found a good trading partner in Minnesota (#2 in the west last year) that wanted offense. i couldnt believe what they gave up. not sure why they wanted him so bad considering they already have a potent offense but im not complaining!
