Tough game for the first 2 periods. Caps came back from a 2 goal deficit to tie in the 2nd. Coach gave us the silent treatment during the 2nd intermission and we all got the message. Came out firing the puck and Megatron's arm cannon blast from the point gave us the lead for good. Great game by Jay and 2 goals from The Batman. Second straight start that Tim Thomas looked average. KuKu has been outplaying him recently. Might give KuKu the start next game again. Other observations from past few games, Bane is slumping badly. His hits are really down and turning the puck over. Jet is also slumping despite a couple garbage goals the past few games.

The Buffalo Sabres put up a good fight but could not solve KuKu Kashew who was brilliant in goal. He had 29 saves. Kenshiro scored 2 more goals to add to his league leading total. Close game throughout but the Sabres could not match the physicality of the Kings.

There are some very nice goals here.
Tuesday, January 10, 2012
Looking to avenge a loss in their last meeting where they gave up 4 3rd period goals to lose, the Kings score 4 in the 3rd to comeback and beat the Cartoon Villains of Vancouver. Ian Gopez tied up the game w/ a short-handed goal that surprised goalie Cory Schneider (starting because the team is so stupid they left Cobra Commander in the minors). He also scored the eventual game-winner on the power play a few minutes later. Tally-Ho Silverhawk netted a hat-trick in a game that featured very few shots, a lot of fights and hits and poor goalie play.

2012 Stanley Cup celebration. Lame as ever...

Tough game against the 80s action stars. Swayze was very tough in net tonight. Kenshiro scores 2 to add to his league leading goal total at 50. 50 goals in 57 games for him. Claude DeLa Colombre also goes into a tie for most assists w/ JET Acevedo at 55. Arnold makes it an interesting last few minutes as he scores w/ about 4 mins left.

Funny the highlights include Kurt Russell's disallowed goal. He deflected w/ a high-stick.
With their #1 goalie Catwoman and #1 D-man Riddler out with injuries, the Detroit Red Wings just could not keep up w/ the juggernaut LA Kings. Lex Luthor scores the first goal of the game less than 2 mins in but all that does is piss off the Kings. They reel off 4 straight goals in a span of 4 mins to effectively put the game away after one period. Learning from their recent 3 goal collapse to Phoenix, the Kings just kept playing their game and added 2 more goals in the final 2 periods. Dr. Doom continues his torrid pace scoring 2 goals. Final score 6-1.

The Kings score 4 goals on thier first 4 shots. Prof X gets chased 8 mins into the game after giving up 5 goals on 7 shots. Kenshiro adds to his NHL leading goal total w/ a Hat trick in the 1st period. Marvel's top 2 lines were completely shut down. Spiderman was bullied all over the ice by Bane and not even Thor's Hammer and Wolverine's claws could dent or scratch goalie KuKu Kashew.

Highlights below...unfortunate there were so many goals that my first 5 were not included...they were the nicest of them all, esp Kenshiro's 3 goals.

NOTE: video also available in 720p
The Kings get off to a fast start but blow a 3 goal lead in the 3rd. It all starts when Thomas inadvertantly tips the puck into his own net. That gave Phoenix enough hope to come back and they did. After a scoreless OT, they win in a shootout in the 4th Rd. To top it off, Chuck Norris is out w/ a broken foot for 5-6 weeks. Also Silverhawk and GvG were also hurt but neither expect to miss any games.

Not satisfied w/ the play of M.Bison, the Kings GM has struck again!! Reaches out to Nashville who has 2 superstars lingering in the minors.

M.Bison

Dirty Dusty

Dr. Victor Von Doom

Eddie Venom

  • M.Bison, Dusty Brown, 2014 1st rd pick, 2013 2nd rd pick, 2016 3rd rd pick to NSH. Dr Victor von Doom, Venom to LA.

Face-off in my own defensive zone. I am on the PK but i know my player will be leaving the box in about 2 secs. So i went for this faceoff technique to great success!!

Posted on January 9, 2012 at 11:43 PM.
So you just won the Stanley Cup...what do you do w/ your team next? If you are Jimmy McGinty, GM of the LA Kings, then you take a hard look at your team and take a sledgehammer to it!!! Rebuild it w/ only the best players using guile to get the most from opposing GMs.

Stanislav Satan

Matt Greene

Megatron

  • Satan and Greene to VAN, Megatron to LA - Satan just never fit. i was going to get rid of him at the trading deadline last year but Mike said to give him til the end of the season to straighten out...he never did. Greene was expendable and i wanted to upgrade our entire defense. Megatron is a huge upgrade.

Jarret Stoll

D-Wayne Simmonds

  • re-signed Stoll, Bourque, D-Wayne, Duchene - last 3 were restricted. Bourque and Duchene were signed to use as trade bait.

Matt Duchene

M.Bison

  • Matt Duchene back to COL, M. Bison and a d-man prospect to LA - as i mentioned about the pathetic 3rd line, i decided to look for defensive-minded forwards to rebuild this line. i mean, i thought we DID have defensive minded players here but it just had zero chemistry. wanted to get grinder types. not to mention Bison is one of the best penalty killers/checkers in the NHL (jay experienced his marking first-hand).

Geronimo Tallchief

Backbreaker Bane

  • Tallchief and 2018 1st rd pick to DET, Backbreaker Bane to LA - this was another huge upgrade. w/ Megatron, we have 2 #1 D-men as our 2nd pair.

Ray Bourque

Dark Knight Batman

  • Ray Bourque and D-man prospect to CHI, Dark Knight Batman to LA - Ray became expendable. didnt want him on the 3rd pair since he's too good and the 3rd pair doesnt get alot of ice time anyway.

Anze Kopitar

Jackson Briggs

  • Kopitar and 2016 2nd rd pick to STL, Jax Briggs to LA - in preparation for the bigger move ahead (due to the Stamkos stand-off), Kopitar also became expendable.

Jack Johnson

Chuck Norris

  • Jack Johnson and 2014 3rd rd pick to CAL, Chuck Norris and his Beard to LA - this was only a minor upgrade but the Beard puts it over the top.

Steven Stamkos

North Star Kenshiro

Tally-Ho Silverhawk

  • Stamkos to MIN, Kenshiro and Silverhawk and 2014 1st rd pick to LA - this was the blockbuster. did a sign & trade w/ Stamkos. he finally lowered his salary demands to 5 mil but only one year. screw him. found a good trading partner in Minnesota (#2 in the west last year) that wanted offense. i couldnt believe what they gave up. not sure why they wanted him so bad considering they already have a potent offense but im not complaining!

Played the game and Katty gives up 2 quick goals to Kovalchuk and D. Sedin. one was my fault because i was just in go go go mode. i decide to play it tight and came back to tie on goals by The Rage and Billy Idol. no goals in a tense 3rd period and we go to OT. surprisingly, they treat the all-star game as a regular season game so it's 4on4 5mins then shootout. lame... anyway, no one scores and we go to a shootout. i didnt set the lineup but when i looked after OT it was me, Scarecrow, Alex, Billy the Kid and Mike.

i go first and score on backhand2forehand deke. Gretzky goes next and hits the post! whew!! cuz he had her beat! Scarecrow goes and gets stoned. Lemieux is next and shoots high!! again he had her beat but shot too high. lol. Alex then has a chance to ice it but fumbles his deke and doesnt get a shot away. f'n geech. Ovechkin goes and has to score. he makes one move and beats Katty on a backhand and we keep going. Billy the Kid is next and does a sweet toe drag to backhand but dammit, Roy was there w/ a toe save. D. Sedin then wins it on his shot. he didnt even deke, he just beat that bitch clean. we lose 3-2 in a shootout. Katty was 1st star.

Nothing better than to stop a losing streak than to play the worst team in the West...the decrepit Rockers of Anaheim!!

Injury Notes: JET Acevedo and Tally-Ho Silverhawk are back from injury after missing 2 games (both losses).
