The Cities I Frequent Are the Worst
Posted on July 9, 2011 at 04:00 AM.
I am a common resident of Houston, Texas. I typically find it to be quite tranquil and normally a fun city to live in. That is until it comes NCAA Football time. Then I realize that I chose the wrong city to reside in for 17 years. I have failed every single year, that is until the year of 2011. But the time that people in Houston are able to grab a copy, i'm not in the damn city. Im in frickin' Mississippi. Now when i first heard we had to make the trip, i thought that i would be able to trick someone into selling me the game. They dont even have a Chick-fil-a down here so if i find a game store, ill be in business. Once again, im rejected from buying the game. I have tried almost everything from asking nicely, to simply waving the money around. I honestly can say that my patience has been drained and the song "Last Resort" by Papa Roach just plays over and over in my head. I want it to simply stop, i want the pain to end. I just want to be lucky for once in my life. As i look in retrospect on my life, anything bad that could happen, did happen to me. I was the only kid hit by a car, i was the only kid to break my leg, i was the only kid to not get a copy of NCAA early in Houston the one year we find a place. Overall, I just feel like I made God angry somehow and this is the one constant way he punishes me. Every single year he knows this is the only game i actually aspire to try and get early and every single year i am left crying myself to sleep for the final week before the release of the game. I wonder if it is actually a sign from God telling me to open my own video game store. That way I can make and break my own rules and have the game whenever my shipment comes into the store. Anyways though, I wont be back in town until Sunday night so Maybe God will find it in his heart to have a person working that night who is willing to sell me the game and let me play all night to my hearts content.

God hasn't been unable to help the millions of people who have lost their homes and are unemployed, he hasn't been able to stop the severe drought in Africa, or help the millions of innocent people who have died in war the past 10 years... but maybe, he will find it in his heart to help you aquire a video game.

If you do get your video game early, do me a favor. While you are praying to your God at night thanking him, give him a message for me. Tell him rdklein said his priorities are f'd up.

@rdklein - amen to that! PJ, just learn patience, it is and always will be, "just a game".
