Saturday Night Heat makes its debut! What's going to happen?
Dean Ambrose def. The Miz: The Miz (as well as Sheamus) agreed to help Ryback in his war against the Shield. Tonight, Miz's target was Dean Ambrose. It was a solid street fight that saw Ambrose pick up the 1, 2, 3, on behalf of the Shield.
Ric Flair w/HHH def. Chris Benoit, WWE Title #1C Tourney: We saw earlier in a backstage segment in which the Game confronted Flair that he'd be accompanying Naitch to the ring in his match with the Rabid Wolverine. It's certainly a curious situation, considering HHH is teaming up with Batista later on.
Of course, with Triple H's assistance, Ric Flair eliminated Benoit and moves on. It would appear they're now in an alliance..
HHH and Batista def. Chris Jericho and Austin Aries: Austin Aries was robbed of a title shot by Batista, who would seem to once again be Triple H's henchman after interfering in Aries and HHH's match. Jericho has offered to team up with him against the former Evolution members who ended their chances of going after gold. Jericho's blood is boiling, and he's had enough of Triple H's shenanigans - this time, he had somebody behind him who had his back, and a mutual grudge against their opponents.
An entertaining match saw lots of weapon use and was highlighted by a simultaneous Pedigree on Jericho in-ring and a Batista Bomb through the commentary table on Aries. While HHH kept Y2J at bay, Batista took out "The Greatest Man That Ever Lived" with his signature spinebuster. HHH, Flair, and Batista are back together and they stand tall on Heat, but Jericho still is after The Game.
Big E Langston def. John Cena, Last Man Standing: Ziggler and Cena have met on a few occasions, most recently in a backstage fight which saw Cena knock out The Showoff. They were to face off once more on Heat, but the stipulation was different this time. The first man to keep the other down for 10 seconds would be the victor. It was sure to be brutal as this rivalry continues.
Instead of himself facing Cena, Ziggler had another idea: have bodyguard Big E Langston take his place. Big E pummeled the surprised Cena into submission, before delivering a post-match beatdown. Ziggler's finally got the upper hand, but I'm sure The Doctor of Thuganomics will have something to say about the situation.
E&C def. Team Mucha Lucha, WWE Tag Titles #1C Tourney: The semi-finals of this tag title #1 contendership tournament pit the recently re-formed Edge and Christian against the masked marvels, the Mexican luchadors - whatever you call them, they're super talented and are sure to have the crowd in awe - Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara. The winners were to take on The Colons in the finals, for the opportunity to face newly-crowned champions Haas & Benjamin (World's Greatest Tag Team) for the tag titles at a future date.
The underdogs were unable to pull off the upset over the more-experienced tag team, while the reunion of Edge and Christian has continued to prove to be a success. They could very well be wearing the tag team title gold once again.
That's all for the debut of Heat! Hope you enjoyed.
