OTL looms, and the fights continue on Friday Night Smackdown!
Drew McIntyre def. Sin Cara, 1st match of Best-of-3 for US title shot: The 3MB's "Chosen One" was on his own in this one, but in a good match pulled out the Future Shock DDT to defeat the masked luchador. He took a 1-0 lead in this best-of-3 and is one step closer towards meeting Antonio Cesaro for the U.S. Championship.
The Colons def. 3MB (Slater/Mahal), WWE Tag Title #1C Tourney: The 3MB came into this matchup looking to continue the group's momentum after member Drew McIntyre picked up a win earlier. They were unable to do it, falling to the more cohesive unit of the Colon cousins, who once again impressed with their high-flying ability. This was quite a fun, hardcore-style, elimination tag battle.
Sheamus def. Edge, 2/3 Falls, WHC #1C Tourney: The Great White took both falls of this brutal fight, finishing Edge off with a vicious White Noise on to a ladder.
The Rock def. Daniel Bryan, 2/3 Falls, WHC #1C Tourney: In this long-awaited dream match, Rocky and DBry pummeled each other until there was only one winner. The Rock picked up the first fall before falling victim to the NO Lock. He got the decisive pin after laying out Bryan with a float-over DDT - this coming after Rock DDTed the former tag champion through the announce table.
Following the bout, WWE Champion C.M. Punk arrived on Smackdown, taking out both men - perhaps sending a message to Stone Cold.
Randy Orton def. Undertaker and Big Show, Triple Threat Non-Title: This match was a crazy, all-out brawl, to no one's surprise. The three men set to face off for the World Title at Over the Limit beat each other all over the arena with anything they could find. There was near-falls, crimson masks, comebacks- you name it, it happened. One wonders how much more exciting this match could be if the title really was on the line. The climax came when a bloodied Undertaker could not stop Orton from pinning Show for the three-count after striking with an RKO.
The Legend Killer made a statement here tonight - he's ready for another war against these two that's to come at Over the Limit.
