HALLADAY'S SOLID PITCHING KEYS WIN FOR PHILS'
PHILADELPHIA-The Mets got to Roy Halladay first in this one, as a Daniel Murphy sac fly scored David Wright in the top of the 2nd. The Phillies got the run back for him later in their half of the 3rd, which started off with a walk by John Mayberry Jr. Roy Halladay would help his own cause with a single, and was moved to second on a single by Placido Polanco that scored Mayberry. Chase Utley broke the tie with a no-doubter down the right field line. Brennan Boesch, who was making his Phils' debut, tacked on to the lead with a solo shot in the bottom of the 6th. It was all Halladay needed to finish the complete game, 76-pitch outing, in which the veteran righty allowed only 5 hits since allowing the 2nd inning run. Most of the pitches thrown by Halladay happened in the 9th, as the Mets attempted a comeback. Angel Pagan started the inning off with a single, but was out at second on a double play attempt by the Phillies. Carlos Beltran was safe at first, and scored right after on a single by Ike Davis. Another double play fielder's choice left Davis out at 2nd, with David Wright reaching first. Lucas Duda stepped up next, and singled to into the right-center field gap. David Wright tried to score from first, but was thrown out at home to end the game.
