Tony Kornheiser: Welcome back to PTI, we are joined by rookie head coach Jason Griffin. Coach how are you?

Jason Griffin: I'm good gentlemen. Thanks for having me.

Kornheiser: Let's get right to it. Coach you are undefeated after your first game so are you ready to announce your retirement on PTI and go down as the greatest coach in NFL history winning percentage wise?

Griffin: (Laughs) I'm not sure I'll be mentioned with the greats if I retire today. I need to strengthen my resume a little. Although I may have surpassed Mike Ditka with Monday's victory. (Laughs) In all seriousness, I was elated to get the first game out the way and to get a victory was amazing. But despite that wonderful feeling all it guaranteed was that we won't go 0-16 this year.

Michael Wilbon: But 1-15 is still a possibility Coach. (Laughs) How are you gonna improve your offense?

Griffin: We need to improve, but I like what I saw in practice earlier today. We had a crispness that we had been lacking lately. I was disappointed that we had trouble moving the ball but the optomist in me thinks that we have nowhere to go but up. I'm putting pressure on our offensive line because they are the key to us becoming a great offense.

Kornheiser: Can Jay Cutler survive all the hits that he is taking?

Griffin: He probably can't. We have to do a better job of protecting him & finding a ground game that he can depend on. Our team needs Jay in order to be effective so we must find a way to help him out.

Wilbon: Brandon Marshall winced when you were first hired & went to the paper to say that a trade may be the best thing for him. How has the relationship been between you two?

Griffin: Brandon has been wonderful. We have very similar personalities and I know that deep down he wants to win as do I. We met shortly after my intro presser and I had a great conversation with him. Since training camp he has been one of the most dedicated professionals on the team.

Wilbon: San Diego is the favorite in your division and you have them this week. Are you willing to guarantee a victory?

Griffin: I'm not gonna go that far, but I do expect a good competitive game. The talent on that team is unreal. You have a hall of famer in Tomlinson & a great QB in Rivers. It really is a case of pick your poison.

Kornheiser: Last question Coach. Eric Mangini is the Mangenius. Bill parcells is the Big Tuna, what should be your nickname.

Griffin: (Laughs) Wow, that came out of left field. I would like to be known from here on out as Employed. I think that it has a nice ring to it.

Kornheiser: (Laughs) Thank you for your time coach.

Wilbon: Thanks a bunch Coach.

Griffin: Any time fellas. I really enjoyed it.
