Coach Griffin: I believe that we made some progress during the preseason and I'm looking forward to the season. We got out of the preseason very healthy and that was our top concern. The offense is shaping up a little, but we have to find a consistent running game to some pressure off Jay Cutler. On defense we need to get more pressure on the quarterback & create turnovers. I feel that we have some of the pieces in place to do that, but we haven't displayed consistency. I'll open it up for questions.

Lindsay Jones, Denver Post: Coach can you comment on the constant rumors of players like Cutler, Marshall, Champ & D.J. Williams being available for the right price?

Griffin: We intend on keeping those guys in Bronco uniforms for a very long time. They are the building blocks for our organization. We feel they give us a great chance to compete for championships in the near future.

Mike Klis, Denver Post: How do you feel about making your coaching debut on Monday Night against the Raiders?

Griffin: I am really excited and anxious to get it started. A division rival on a Monday Night doubleheader. the last game of the week. I'm full of anticipation. The rivalry between the Raiders & Broncos is a special one & to be in the midst of the crazy fans in Oakland will be really special.

Jeff Lewgold, Denver Post: What are your expectations for this season?

Griffin: I believe we can contend for a division title, but we have to be more consistent. I feel that our talent level is good enough to surprise some teams this year. I think it's going to be a fun ride. So I suggest that everyone strap up & enjoy the ride. In the words of Barry Switzer, WE'RE GONNA DO IT BABY!!!!
