In the debut of Fresno State's new option attack, running backs Stephen Baker and Albert Wolfe each racked up 73 yards on the ground, while the Bulldog passing game torched the Buffalo defense for 250 yards passing on only 19 tries en route to a 27-6 win the their home opener.

Meloy: "Clearly we have work to do on our ground game. Under four yards per carry just isn't going to cut it long-term. We need to pass protect better too. Giving up five sacks in only 24 dropbacks just isn't very good. On the other hand, our defense played really well, only giving up a few explosive plays and never letting Buffalo in the end zone. All in all, a lot to build on but definitely some bright spots."
