Notes: Spent first two seasons as Offensive Coordinator at LSU. Passed up several head coaching opportunities before accepting a job close to home at Tulane.

Season Record: 12-0
Post-season: National Championship Game (Loss vs. Ohio State: 24-28)

Offseason Notes: Won Coach of the Year. Even though team lost Nat'l Championship, still finished season ranked #1. Defensive Coordinator left for same position at USC. Offensive coordinator left for head coaching job at North Texas.
