There was an article on Panthers.com that said Lubomir Visnovsky was leaving the NHL to go back to Slovakia. Big loss for Florida as he proved to be a valuable d-man during the stretch run as well as the playoffs.

OTHER NEWS:
- Joe Pavelski close to a new contract. My sources tell me it's a four year deal in the works, Panthers want 20 million, Joe's representatives are looking for 22 over the 4 year term. A no-trade clause is rumored to be involved in the deal as well. The sides are close and look for them to come to an agreement sometime over the weekened.
- Also close to signing are RFAs Tyler Ennis and Erik Gudbranson. These players are expected to sign before other teams can put together offer sheets on July 1st.
- GM Brian Bilotti announced he will not offer contracts to UFA defenseman Filip Kuba or Brad Stuart. Kuba is expected to sign over in Europe, as did teammate Lubomir Visnovsky. Stuart on the other hand, seems to be asking in excess of $4 million a season, a price Florida isn't going to pay despite him being on the top pairing all of last season.
- Some signings to report, C Roman Horak, D Colby Robak, and C James Wright
- We've been working on putting together this season's list of the Panthers Top 10 Prospects. The list is currently being worked on, and is scheduled to be released sometime in July after the free agent frenzy is complete.
