Had to play that card didn't you Lebron? Didn't you?

Dear Lebron... Sure, America is made up of a bunch of racist bastards, whether it be by choice (stupidity) or the minds unconsciousness (idiocy)... But I don't hate on your "The Decision" because of your race.... I hate on it because it was a dumb decision, whether you were white (we all know there is no way the best basketball player in the current NBA could possibly be white haha) or the color you currently are (see Michael Jackson) I would still feel the same way. What am I going to do? Buy NBA 2K11, with, by the way, the best basketball player ever on it (MJ, not Michael Jackson) and beat down your Heat with the Bulls. MJ, A basketball player that led his team, even though the opposition knew he was going to get the ball in the clutch, A player that was the only true superstar on his team and made every single one of his teammates better, one that didn't need to be surrounded by a bunch of other great players to justify his own greatness and to get him a championship (Sure Scottie Pippen is AWESOME, and a hall of famer, but would he really have had that career without MJ?) Thats right buddy, you'll get it, it's in the game.... or in this case, I guess we can't tab that as our trademark... I am by no means a Lebron *****, and I am by all means a Bulls fan. I didn't need him to come to my team to respect him. Lebron playing in his home town trying to get them a championship was very respectable, and I had nothing but good things to say about Lebron. The weakness came out in him over the summer, he has been pampered and tabbed as the next big thing his whole life, and still could have gone down as one of the best in history had he stayed with Cleveland. So he will win a few championships with the Heat, and probably be a hall of famer, and good for him. That means nothing to me. Sure I'm just an insignificant fan, but he took the cheap way out in basketball, in life, and future generations are sure to hear that from me on the Lebron topic. It seems all these young superstar players want to do that these days? "I'm not happy here, I want to play for this team, with this guy".. What ever happened to being grateful you made it to the NBA, making millions and that you are not living on the streets? That you aren't working at McDonald's supporting those 5 kids you have? That goes for every player, no matter the race

C'mon SON!!At the end of the day these common problems still exist in out streets, schools, places of business and our homes. i understand that many people disagree with the man "decision" but we cant be blind and go on through our lives thinking that none of this exist and slavery never happened and were one big happy family without any problems. Our society has lived and bred off the hatred of others from skin color to gender to sexual preference. but you have those people who believe that lebron threw "race card" just goes to show that you cant and wont ever understand how it is or feels to walk in an african americans shoes!!! . Im not saying that every persons on this earth is racist, thats not what im saying but we cant be blind to the fact that certain things and issues stick a whole lot harder to african american athletes than they do to players in general. Its all about perception and opening your eyes and seeing the world in a different perspective and not commenting on things you know nothing about! but tryin to understand whats happening around you.

This is a great post and I totally agree. Lebron being black didn't factor when he had the highest selling jersey in America. Lebron being black didn't factor when he essentially became the face of the NBA. I think the backlash that Lebron is facing now is coming more from the fact that he spurned his hometown for a selfish reason in a really self absorbed way. When was the last time a hometown hero up and left in a way that seemed to ridicule his old fans.

Of course there are idiots out there, but in general I think that the amount of racists in America is overblown. Once we can stop looking at race first, we will all be better off for it.

Anyways this is my first post here, and I must say that this website is just awesome. Combining sports and sports video games is like heaven for me haha!

Not trying to get banned here but, this is a sports releated thing. I don't understand how race is not an issue when the Cavs were sold out every game and the crowds are 65% white at least!!! Lebron's jersey was sold #1 or #2 for what 6 years and believe me 65% of those jersey sales were to white people. You make a stupid *** decision with "the decision" and people get ticked off at your behavior and now RACE had something to do with it. Get over yourself Lebron YOU had EVERYTHING to do with it. Am I an idiot and think that racism is gone in our country, no but, everytime someone gets made at Lebron or Obama it's a race thing please give people some freaking credit.

If you want to see racism everywhere you look, you will. If you want to pretend there is no racism, you can. The truth usually lies somewhere in the middle.

As far as Lebron, I believe it's hard for someone who has been told for years that he's the greatest thing since sliced bread, to all of sudden not feel loved by everyone. If you live in a narcissistic bubble, what can you do but blame it on others?

In observance of respect, which it seems only I have out of the two of us, I will not reply to NASIR2385's comment, knowing that he has no idea who I am, or what I've done... "You can't please all the people all the time, and last night, all those people were at my show"-Mitch Hedberg... Thanks a lot though to the rest of you! I appreciate the time taken to read this blog about dumb decisions and the aftermath that follows, and video game redemption!!
