MLB The Show 17 News Post


Sony Interactive Entertainment have announced plans to release their MLB The Show 17 patch, as well as perform server maintenance early tomorrow morning. More specifically at 3 AM Pacific. Once details of the patch have been released, we will post them.

Using the cpu hook slider in 16 and past always fixed the issue for me. Using it this year in the opposite end doesn't seem to fix it.

I'm not one that likes moving sliders 5x a day (game days) just to play. This slider to SIM, that setting for these innings, this set to start a game, that set for the 9th inning, etc. It's just frustrating.

Ooh your talking about sim stats. Yeah screw doing that. Hopefully they can tweak gameplay pitchers gettin pulled but keep the sim stats.

Fix the number of customize tracks for our audio. Right now it's at 481 when they advertise 1000

I hope they fix the hitting. I shouldn't struggle on GODDAMM veteran difficulty.

The patch is 1.754 GB be interesting to see the patch notes with what was actually fixed. A pretty good size patch.

I am hoping that this fixes online franchise from being stuck on roster upload and taking days to do that or trying to activate a online franchise and it never goes thru.

I amde several online franchise in the past 2 weeks that never get past step 1. So let's hope this will fix that and some other issueswe all have encountered. All the games being qued online, especially in the online franchise can sim games it takes forever for any of them to go thru and sometimes not at all.

patch notes are out if you click update history. Not sure how to copy that over.

some big fixes I've seen

They fixed the cpu pulling pitchers early
sounds of the show fixed
adjusted the power on opposite field HRs, as well as inside/outside swing pitches.

Some nice fixes in here. The 7 Line Army will be awesome to see. On the gameplay side, glad I won't be hitting bombs oppo taco...

Nice, thanks for taking those screenshots.

I wonder why the "Improvements made to catcher blocking ability" is listed in the Online section? Will this help with the wild pitch problem for offline too?

Yeah, the way that's worded I kinda doubt it. But we'll see.

Nothing about the wind regarding HR's in general, although I'm sure most all of us will be glad to see fewer opposite field shots.

I'll probably mess around in QC some this morning and see if I can tell a difference (even I picked up on the quick hook in that mode).

I'm sure the other CPU vs CPU guys will be happy they're getting the radar gun and (I would assume) a fixed ball/strike count display.

Edit: The servers are probably still under maintenance even though the patch is out. Server error upon starting up the game.

All sounds good, but I guess the proof will be in the pudding. Hopefully the pitching logic has been properly fixed as that was the one, huge problem for me. (especially on QC, that they haven't specifically mentioned but I'd hope would come under the general fixing of SP being pulled early, same goes for closers inexplicably being pulled mid save)

People not regularly taking low and away sliders for opposite field 450+ foot bombs will be nice as well

Good post CB...would also like to see reducing the hitters window on HOF-Legend levels and additional organ music at baseball parks that use alot of organ sound effects.

Very disappointed that
1) the Detroit tigers behind the catcher backdrop is still pinkish tan when it should be dark green
2)sun trust stadiums grass is too neon green and should be more reg green
3)phillies stadium grass is dull last year in mlb16 it was perfect. They ruined it in 17

For the life of me. We've all seen their twitch streams and see how EASY their art director goes into menus fixing and looking at things for them to NOT address these 3 main eyesores is just outright awful


Basically those of us that care about these three teams can't have just the most simplest fixes? I mean they're just a minor adjustment!

Game Is Good. But I can't stomach to play in these stadiums at all and many others I've talked to away from this forum feel the same


I've reported this bug through their forum twice. And all over Twitter

Nothing done about it

There is nothing wrong with SunTrust's grass. Have you seen a game there? It's pretty neon under the lights.
