Can anyone tell me if Colin White of the Senators made it into this update? I'm guessing he did because he's played 2 NHL games but I wasn't sure

No Zach Aston-Reese yet? Oh, ok. Makes sense.

It's a legal/licensing thing. One of the devs (Andy Agostini) put out a little vlog about the process several years ago, and I doubt much has changed. Even after playing in the AHL, minor leaguers need to sign some sort of PHPA waiver to be included. And I believe players on Amateur Tryout Contracts -- often the case with late-season signings of college players -- cannot be included (which isn't the case with Aston-Reese, but still worth mentioning).

Meanwhile, for the NHLPA, the licensing rights are automatic after the player appears in an NHL game.
