Like I said in the other thread, RTTS has so much potential, so much more than the individual player careers in other games as baseball is so much more of an individuals sport. Can't wait to see what the long term plans are, as this looks like a nice start.

On a completely unrelated side note, do American sports teams really have sofas in their dressings rooms like on the main screen in this? That's pretty flashy, here in England you're lucky if the shower has hot water!

Yes most American Sports teams have better than a couch. This is a MINOR league locker room. The big leagues have video games, Jacuzzis, spas, Olympic size pools, billard tables, Big screen TVs, on and on. Don't tell me Manchester United doesn't have this stuff in their locker room too1

Not locker room, nothing like that. Just lockers and benches to sit on, with showers. There's pool tables, sofas and that in the players lounge probably, but locker rooms are pretty basic and just for getting changed in. Usually they have massage rooms off to the side, maybe rooms for ice baths and that, but no entertainment stuff or comfort. Can't even imagine how mental ex pro's would go if they saw a sofa in the dressing room!

Never say never as to the Cubs never trading Rizzo. The Red Sox and Padres both traded him.

But based on the Cardinals lineup in 2019 in my RTTS game they trade everyone. The game does the one thing the Cardinals rarely do, gutted the team like they were in rebuild mode. Molina, Wainwright, Holliday, Carpenter, Lynn, and many others were all traded in 2016 and 2017 in the game.

Of course it looks like it is not just the Cardinals. In 2019 I am playing on the Rangers batting 3rd and Anthony Rizzo is batting forth (like the cubs would ever trade him). On the plus side we are number 1 and 2 in both HR, RBI and I believe Avg. (we also have the #3 guy in HR and RBI). We make up for our pitching staff that is ranked 28th in the league.

Reading the comments on youtube, I see that there are many who want a scripted story like in NBA2K. I hope they won't go this route. This is my career, my decisions, my attitude, my background.

I like their current approach.

Completely agreed man. I did not like the scripted, linear story of nba 2k.

Ramone said it was non-linear so I am excited for it to be the consequences of my choice to a path to the show. Open ended progress is awesome ,one way or another IMO.

I think people are making a mountain out of a molehill with that whole change-positions thing. I highly doubt you'll be moving to third base if you're a pitcher.

Nor will I expect severe consequences if you don't.

And even if you do have to switch, remember: Hall-of-Famer Craig Biggio was a catcher, a center-fielder, and finally a second baseman.

I wish 2k took this approach instead of a story. I'd still be playing the mode lol

This is why I stay off Youtube. I used to love NBA's MyPlayer mode, but these last two years it's basically unplayable mostly due to the scripted linear story

I'm excited for this. Should be finished with my 3B career by the time it comes out, so I can start fresh. Now the only thing I need to decide on is if I want to pitch or be another hitter.

everything 2k needs this so badly when it comes to MY career .... but ppl will live in this mode and 2k wouldn't make any $

As a 2K player myself, I actually disagree.

I'm okay with the off-court stuff as it is right now (2K16's was far worse). It's when it gets ON the court that's a problem...this year was a serious misstep, what with all the psychic steals, reaching into the passing lane the INSTANT you hit the pass button...But I'm getting off on a tangent here.

My point is, even though baseball is not my real-world sport of choice, I do consider The Show a better baseball game than 2K is a basketball game. And I buy the game because of that (and not Madden, though they can still fix their own issues).
