MLB The Show 17 Q&A on Facebook Reveals More Details on the Game

Ramone and Tyler hosted their MLB The Show 17 Q&A on Facebook, below are some of the details. Make sure to watch the video for the full Q&A and gameplay.
  • Instant replay remains the same as last year. Gameplay related items were more important.
  • Mariners have the light blue uniforms.
  • Pave Your Path is a Story Mode in RTTS, more details in the next few weeks.
  • No new camera views (other than Retro Mode), but there are new ones for presentation.
  • 2 new commentators this year, joining Matt Vasgersian.
  • You can not import your Diamond Dynasty logo from 16 to 17, maybe next year.
  • 100's of new presentations
  • New Sounds of the Show slots, more details coming soon.
  • All of the uniforms in the style guide are in the game, all alternates.
  • No rainouts or postponements, more focus on gameplay, etc.
  • No online couch co-op

It always is interesting to see what other people focus on. If I played 100,000 games I would not have noticed the color of stitching.

Same with who the announcers are. I turn the announcers down and listen to the radio when I'm playing. I don't even know who the announcers were in the show 16.

Different strokes for different folks.

1.Which one? The oval one is in the game, but I don't think the diamond one is.

2. If you go into edit player and change a fielder's position from LF to SS back and forth, you can clearly see a size difference.

As a huge tribe fan also, this inaccuracy drives me crazy I really hope one of the devs see this and can get it fixed in time it's an eye sore.

Yeah idk it just looks off to me, i think his back is too straight. And on top of that, he doesn't pump his bat like he does in real life.

Lorne is not a stadium artist, but we are still looking into the CLE flag situation.

If I recall, Lorne is the rosters/ratings/roster update man.

Thanks Adam_SDS for looking into it. As a small detail, its what makes the Show one of the best games out there. I'd call it a little thing. Will have my fingers crossed that it will be fixed. Show Progressive Field a little love.

Don't know if its been mentioned, but when pitching from the broadcast cam in Progressive field there should be the Progressive Field logo on the wall behind home place.

Yes, this was also mentioned already. Is the giant new scoreboard and OOTS not enough for you guys?!?!

No, Adam. It would be nice to rep the State of Ohio and the city of Cleveland, home of the NBA Champion Cleveland Cavaliers and AL Pennant Champion Cleveland Indians. 52 years of futilities is enough, don't you think?

When I saw the tarp was finally in I popped a bottle of champagne. And If I see red socks I may have a minor cardiac episode.

Seriously though, I really appreciate what you guys have done.

It's the little things that make a big difference and a lot of them have not been accounted for in the past couple iterations of the show at progressive field. In addition to the previous requests, the new LED ribbon boards need to be added, and the tops of the right field walls should be black not grey. Hopefully the Indians home white and navy alternate uniforms will finally have the red undershirts, belts, and socks, but I'm aware of the style guide issues. Thank you for listening to our feedback I hope most of these requests will be implemented into 17

Did you put photos from the 2016 season of all these things into the sticky thread?

I just joined OS so I could give my feedback, so no I have not but I believe I have seen other members provide pictures in that thread. Is there still time for me to post pictures of things that need to be fixed? I'd be happy to do so to help out!

Just checked and there are already pictures of the 2016 ribbon boards posted by another member in the Jumbotron and LED boards sticky thread

They haven't said, but I did notice a "uniform" tab in the edit player screen. It might be included in there. I'd love to see an option to have unbuttoned jerseys too. In past years I wouldn't think there was a chance that either one would be included, but this year it seems like anything is possible

I'm sold just based on what I've seen over the last two weeks.
In fact I dont think I need to wait anymore, Sony you can go ahead and sell me '17 ''as is''.

Sorry for not reading 14 pages of commentary. I noticed one of th topics covered was "no online couch co-op" May I ask why ? If that is not in could you please bring back like you did maybe 4 years ago, online teamplay please. I know lots of people that would purchase this amazing game if it were in.

Even if it was just for 2v2 would be great, one controls the outfield n the other controls the infield, rotate every other inning to pitch and while batting you go every other at bat. This was a great option when it was available.

Madden did the same thing, they had online multi player and it was fantastic. 2v2 or 3v3 was great gaming and a laugh fest. Both The Show and Madden should bring it back for one more year and put out the feelers n get some feedback and decide in the future if its worth it.

I have posted on here as well as the Madden forums about this subject and never get an answer as to why it has been removed. It doesn't seem like it would use to much space. It is also a great way to keep in touch with family members/friends who are out of state/country.

Really? I never noticed this... Maybe I just didn't pay close enough attention.
