Is it common for the games on pre-order to have trouble getting listed properly on Amazon? For a long time you couldn't find any edition of '17 through their search and you have never been able to see a shot of the MVP steelbook (my main reason for paying the extra $10) even when it was available for pre-order.
Seems odd that a site that clearly values videogame pre-orders (ie, 20% with Prime) would tolerate listing problems that are sure to depress sales.
It took me a little to find different versions of The Show 17 but I did order the MVP Edition for $61. I placed it a while back. Still didn't expect them to sell out.
Damn it, I really wanted to order the MVP edition from Amazon to take advantage of the Prime savings and to use a gift card that I was saving specifically for this game. For some reason Amazon seems to drop the ball a lot when it comes to The Show (at least in my case). For the last 2 years I pre-ordered the game this way and chose "release date delivery" only to find out on release day that it was sent out late and I didn't get my copy until the end of the week. Mind you that over the past several years I've ordered dozens of other games this way from Amazon and other than one other instance, it's always worked like a charm. This makes perfect sense since MLB-The Show is the one game I care most about getting on release day, so logically it's the only one they screw up every year. This is the first time that I couldn't even place the order though. Hopefully they straighten it out soon or I guess it's off to GameStop instead (physical copy is a MUST for me).

I hear ya man. I've been waiting for the MVP edition to pop back up on Amazon for about 3 weeks. Wanted to take advantage of the AmazonPrime deal. Doesn't look like that's gonna happen unfortunately. I think a trip to my local GameStop will be happening in a few days. Can't miss out on release day!
FWIW, I checked my Amazon purchases today, and it's telling me that the game is shipping this Friday, so with Prime 2-Day shipping, chance some of us may get it Monday.
I have been using prime to purchase video games and dvds/blu rays for about seven years now and I have only even received one thing early and it was only by a day. I wouldn't mind this slipping into my hands Saturday or Monday, but realistically it'll be at my home around noon on 3/28.
I hope some of you folks get it early but I would not hold your breath. Amazon is very good at knowing how long it takes packages to get anywhere and ships accordingly.
Actually, if it ships Friday some could get it on Sunday since the USPS delivers Prime packages on Sundays.
I've had a few of my Prime items arrive on Sunday but haven't been able to detect much of a pattern as to what they'll rush and what they won't. I've received a few kitchen staples on Sunday whereas others sat at the post office another day. And never any movies or books.
Any Prime members receive pre-ordered games on Sunday?

I have never gotten a game early using Prime and I have never had any Sunday deliveries at all.

Hadn't seen this post when I asked whether any Prime members had received pre-ordered games early. Guess I shouldn't get my hopes up but I will anyway. lol

I live something like 20 minutes from a distribution center and have had a few things get here less than 24 hours after shipping. Hopefully The Show ships to me from that facility and they're conservative with their delivery estimate.

I've only had two Sunday deliveries myself IIRC. I didn't know about the policy at first and was flabbergasted to see the USPS truck in my driveway on a Sunday morning. It was a little before Xmas and I figured there might have been some undelivered packages from the day earlier and they had a mandate to get those out ASAP. Didn't seem like the kind of thing the public sector would do though. lol

I wouldn't recommend anyone hold their breath on this either. It releases the 28th, you'll surely die if you attempt to hold your breath until then.
I love Prime. Typically not for me but saves our bank account with all the crap my wife orders. Seriously, some days I get home and it feels like we're a distribution plant for Amazon with all the boxes at the door.
I have never received a game early from prime. I have pre-orded The Show from them the last two years and again this year. Should be here between noon and 2pm on the 28th I expect...
