Sony Interactive Entertainment has just started their MLB The Show 17 Twitch stream. Watch it here.

The team will be discussing Diamond Dynasty and the new modes within it.

Sorry if it's been asked or answered. I am at work and unable to watch the streams.

Any new modes or challenges for us OFFLINE only diamond dynasty players? I liked conquest mode last year but after completing it I had nowhere else to go with the diamond dynasty mode. Thanks!

Can someone do a cliff notes version of the stream please? While I am not interested much in DD, I'm wondering if some more info was released about some other aspects.

I could be wrong, but in the short gameplay portion of the stream, it appeared as though it had broadcast presentation. If that's true than one of my biggest wishes for DD vs CPU has come true. I spend a lot of time on my team's uniforms, but fast play never lets me admire them in cutscenes. If I actually have that option now, I may play more DD this year than I had originally thought.

I did notice that too. Its understandable why Broadcast during an Online game is a disaster, but when playing against the CPU, no reason Fast Play should be forced upon you.

In regards to Seasons and the New Rank System. It says the highest reward is reached at level 900. And the ones below all fall in 100 level increments.

In previous years, one win would level you up about ~100 rank.

I imagine it is different this year because that would mean you need 9 wins to get the highest reward.

My question is, how much do you rank up per win?

I have a question. In one of the streams - I can't remember which one - a developer described how they test the game to make sure the number of hits is accurate.

My question is what umpire setting they use to assure realistic numbers of hits in the game. I use manage mode with no human input and I'd like it to be as close to reality as possible but I'm not sure which umpire setting they use to test the game.

If someone could answer that I'd greatly appreciate it.

Can quick counts be used in Diamond Dynasty? It's not in MLB 16, or at least I haven't been able to figure out how.

Not really no. You have Conquest, Extra Innings against CPU controlled teams and games against CPU controlled MLB teams.

The did show that they included some Conquest specific goals in the missions.

Thanks for the reply. That's disappointing. I was hoping for some computer challenges or goals more similar to Madden Ultimate Team. You can only do conquest and extra innings games for so long. I'm surprised with them wanting to push Diamond Dynasty that they have not added more for people who don't play online.
