I wonder if that is the voice of one of the new announcers at the 46 second mark in this video?

If only Dave Niehaus could be a voice in the game, however seems highly unlikely due to the fact he passed away 6 years ago.

I love him. He threw me a ball once. I damn near cried. 43 years old and I'm still a fanboy.

so nice to see Griffey involved considering a lot of us grew up playing his game

Very cool to see.

I've seen this before in sports video games (specifically baseball), and I'm not saying the mo-cap swing we saw him do is the one they put in the game... but I've seen them go at about 60% effort for the item that is represented in a game before (I think it was a 2K mo-cap video showing pitchers and infielders throwing), and you can see why the translation doesn't work out because they didn't put all of it into their motion.

Just saying that when we do see things wrong in games, despite the fact the individual themselves might have mo-capped it, is sometimes because of this. Other times it may just have to do with stitching two animations together (for example, swing and follow-through).

The last swing ("The kid is unbelievable!") is the first time I've seen this franchise show an appropriate "bent elbow"). The swing kind of looked like an opposite field approach, but after contact still looked a bit wonky the way the wrists rolled so fast. Nevertheless, I like the new variety. Hopefully it's not all just for Griffey!

Having the Kingdome in the game would be cool!
