It's unacceptable that the crowds and trees be 2D background cutouts reminiscent of GT4 on the PS2.

yeah,..no other option for this specific type of racing experience on the PS4 except for project cars, which is, well, project cars.

IMO, I just don't see the hype for this game... It's just so... bland. Graphics are great, but nothing else jumps out to me. IMO, I enjoyed GriD much better. The vehicles and interaction visually was more dramatic, dynamic and just had a "feel" to it that was and is unique. This, in essence to me is similar to an asset simulation for the console to show the consoles power - that happens to be a game they want to sell.

Really looking forward to this game, love both 5&6 and played the heck out of them.I hope they are nearing completion. I still enjoy the excellent Project Cars on the PS4 but this should be a nice addition to my collection of racing games.

I won't. With it being online only, I'm not wasting money on a game that will always include someone who doesn't know how to play or gets mad when they're losing and drives in the opposite direction to make everyone else's experience as bad as theirs. Racing games are some of the worst online games, no matter which one I play. If I can't compete against highly skilled AI like in PCARS or F1 2016, I'm not buying it.

I hadn't heard it was online only, if so that will definitely keep me from buying it , unless I can set up races against the A.I. and friends only.

It is NOT online only. There is a single player component. Missions, arcade race, driving school, etc.
