I'm seeing roughly the same game play, and would be hard pressed to say I've seen any appreciable difference. The game played well to begin with, and still does. The things that frustrated me before still frustrate me.

I would imagine that if PES got such high reviews, as it did this year, any changes to game play would be very minor.

There are certainly big changes in gameplay after the patch. Fist of all there are many fouls commited now by the cpu. In 25min games there are always 10+ fouls by cpu. Goalkeepers were also tweaked. The def/att levels of cpu are also improved and there is more variation in how they attack.
Also when adaptive AI kicks in the games PES 17 reaches level of gameplay perfection as you have to adjust tactics to cope with the AI changes.
Needless to say that this game is a pure joy on PC with all the mods.

You weren't getting fouled before?

I think some of these "changes" could be explained simply by how ML plays. I have games where I don't get fouled much, but I also have games where the CPU just bullies me. This has been the case both pre/post update.

I've been seeing fouls on both me and the CPU during ML, I play with tight compactness in defense and I play both sidelines and up the middle depending on how the CPU's defense responds and more often than not if I go up the middle the CPU fouls more frequently. Even had the CPU get red carded for blatantly shoving me down. Refs are worse in FIFA 17, when the CPU does an obvious foul the ref just lets them off with a warning 9 times out of 10 everytime and I get a red card for a simple tackle and the guy doesn't even fall down.

Injury on the other hand is a rare occasion, in my first season with Bayern Munchen I had 2 players injured (Ribery being one of them).

It has been a long time coming for PES to have a new injury and stamina system honestly there is no excuse. It is archaic at this point and so far behind every other sports game on the market.

Pre patch I had 2 ML going. One using ML squads and one using club squads. I played on top player and was at the end of my first season with both. My club ML season (Athletico Mad) I was top of table (1 defeat to barca away). With club squad (swansea) I was near bottom on english second division.

I'm seeing radically different results. Game much harder...CPU very physical...

So I started new season dropping difficulty to professional. Same teams and the results are mirroring what I was getting on top player. It seems as though they've really changed the top 2 levels. Prior to patch professional was too easy now it plays nicely with good balance etc...

Yup I started a Ligue 2 ML on professional and AI is kicking my butt, so fun.

I've got fifa 17... But have barely played it. Terrible game, so I'm basing most of what I know off of 16... But I find it hard to believe the refs are worse than in PES. There are lots of fouls being called in PES this year, for sure, but so many blatant/outrageous tackles are going uncalled. PES is so laugh out loud physical this year. It's almost like watching a game of rugby at times.

I'm sure if the refs actually made proper calls in PES that games would take forever to finish.

Ultra HD. UHD is a resolution of 3840 pixels × 2160 lines (8.3 megapixels, aspect ratio 16:9) and is one of the two resolutions of ultra high definition television targeted towards consumer television, the other being 8K UHD which is 7680 pixels × 4320 lines (33.2 megapixels).

in terms of ps4 pro 4k resolution mode is a resolution running at 3840 pixels × 2160 lines (8.3 megapixels, aspect ratio 16:9) and 60 fps on the newest ps4 pro consoles
