NHL 17 News Post

Building a team with all of the winning components is among the most difficult tasks for any sports franchise, and the same is certainly true in the EASHL. The job becomes even trickier for anyone who was unable to coerce enough friends into buying NHL 17, denying you the opportunity to at least put together a squad of your own. Instead, you’ll be forced to confront the same harsh reality that so many players online face: being thrown together with a bunch of strangers and attempting to build some chemistry on the fly as quickly as possible. Welcome to EASHL drop-in games.

In the course of starting from scratch every game and hoping this is the time you’re finally paired with a talented group who will only help complement each other's abilities (or failing that, at least some people that won’t quit on you), you’ll slowly start to realize you tend to run into the same kind of players throughout the course of your career in the EASHL.

Here’s a rundown of who you can often expect to find on your team as you lace up the skates and fire up your mic time and time again.

I'm definitely a pass first person but by the time second period roles around I find it harder to pass the puck as no one else cares about puck movement. On a side note I pretty much stopped playing drop in, since 09 I been running into a the characters hat you have listed above and it's not worth it anymore.

Nice article. I enjoy playing defense in drop in games. Especially when everyone is on the ice to enjoy playing the game. I think the most frustrating part of drop in games are the players who back out of the lobby if there are not human goalies. The odds of making it through the game without one or both dropping are slim, so then you're joining three or more lobbies just to find another.

Play in a league and you can avoid this to some degree.

The 6th type, the winger that loves to play on the side you are supposed to be on. You can never pass the puck, take a bunch of penalties or never play defense and I won't get too upset. However when you are the RW and you spend more than HALF the game on the left side, that will really trigger me.

Haha; so accurate! Big ups to the OS community for starting their own squad (see NHL Online). None of these there! How damn hard is it to play your position?!!

Ditto on drop in D.
