So I started over after messing around. And I Archer-fied my created manager using the new import image option. So, you know, messing around some more.

I used this image:

And got this result:

LOL, that nose.

I kind of like it. The possibilities with this 2005-ish EA face scan tech are endless.

The in game thumb looks way better, but still nothing like the image:

It's time for my yearly struggle getting player faces to load, lol.

Got the logos loaded, but the faces didn't. Have them in the same graphics file.

I'll play around with it later tonight and see if there was just something obvious I did wrong last night. But at least I got the logos loaded. I could play it without player faces, but not having the logos would drive me insane haha

My save crashed after the SuperDraft and none of the players would sign with Minnesota United due to our reputation and finances not being in line with the other MLS teams. So now I'm starting unemployed and will take over Arsenal in 2017 when Wenger retires.
Did you send them a bug report for this problem?

For some reason I had to clear the cache twice and reload the skin twice for them to work for me.

Couple questions...

Can you create players in FM?

Can you turn off the 'first' transfer window (like FIFA)?

# 48 Zac @ 10/19/16 02:57 PM
I don't know about creating players. I'm sure there is, but someone else can answer for sure or not.
EDIT: Looks like you can, but you have to use the editor, its not an in game feature.

But yes, you can disable the first transfer window when you start a new save.

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home tonight.

What folder do you have it in? I've seen two different answers.

One said to just put it in Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 17\graphics, and another said to create a "facepacks" folder in the graphics folder, and put it in there.

I have mine in the same folder I had for 16. Documents>Sports Interactive>Football Manager 17>Graphics>Faces

I also have another folder in the Graphics folder called Iconfaces with the smaller ones.

But even with this mega pack of cutout faces (like 170K images), I still see many silhouettes. Maybe this is because of missing the regen face/hair mod?

Is anyone else seeing a large amount of goals being scored from the ball bouncing off the keeper and into the net?

How many nations do you all usually load? I am looking to play in Europe (thinking of starting with a Segunda Division B team (Toledo, perhaps), but I am not sure yet).

I give up on getting the face pack to work, man.

I have it in the exact same folder that I have the logos in.

I can take the logos out of that folder, reload the skin, it goes back to the generic logos. Put the logo folder back in, reload the skin, and the logos come back, but I can't get the faces to load for the life of me.

Oh well, I can live with no faces...

What facepack were you using, anyways? I don't think I ever bothered to install one last year because of how huge the download files were for it.

The cutout facepack from sortitoutsi. Tried downloading the entire new facepack, and just downloading the update, adding it to my existing one, and copying it over. No dice.

I downloaded the newest version (9.0 I think) and extracted it directly to my graphics folder. Then I reloaded the skin and it worked.

Your problem might have to do with folder structure.

My structure is graphics->pictures, and then 6 different folders with faces, flags, icon faces, kits, logos, and trophies.

Make sure you untick the box that says "use skin cache."

Its a good idea to use the skin cache. Just click the button that says clear cache and then reload the skin.

I might just delete the whole thing out of my graphics folder, download it again, and try it loading it again.

At this point I'm thinking maybe something went wrong with the download of the face pack itself. The folder structure is exactly the same as I had it in 16

# 60 ImTellinTim @ 10/20/16 05:01 PM
I really should work no matter what the structure is as long as it's in the graphics folder. But there could be a problem with the control file that is with your pictures. (I think it might be an xml file? Not sure haven't looked recently). If that is referencing a specific file path, that could cause a problem.
