Hey guys,

This opportunity was just brought to OS by the EA Playtesting team (not exclusively). They want to hit some of their more core audiences, and that is the niche we fit very nicely!

EA Sports is hosting a remote playtest that will start on Sep. 29th and run though Oct. 12th. If you live in the continental U.S., then we welcome you to apply for this opportunity! You will need a phone and internet access for the duration of this playtest, more details below.

Quote:
How will this work if you're selected?
  • You'll meet with our researcher who'll explain the process in a "kickoff" conference call (Sep. 29 or Sep. 30)
  • You'll play the game and fill out 5-10 minute survey about your experiences for 7 days straight (you don't even have to leave your house, but you do have to complete the surveys by our deadlines! Oct. 3rd - Oct. 9th)
  • You'll attend a short "exit" conference call with the researcher (Oct. 10, 11, or 12)
  • You'll receive your reward for participating! Participants will have the option to pick from two rewards: either 2 free EA games shipped to your door or a $50 Giftrocket gift card.
More details are available in the survey itself.

Same. oh well, i hope they picked alot of online CFM guys to represent Online leagues, because quite frankly, it seems the largest disconnect between them and EA of all the dif types of players who play CFM.

Congratulations to those who were selected. Unfortunately, I was not one of them, but I sincerely hope OS guys can give some truly quality feedback.

Did my kickoff call yesterday. Of the 12 people who were supposed to be on the call only four of us showed up. A heavily accented Indian guy led the study and I think his name was Berhen (he spelled it but still not sure I got it right).

So basically we play 15 minutes each day by starting a NEW cfm that is just us (no other humans) and then each day we are asked for some feedback. If you miss a days report you don't get your rewards but you can not play a day and still get it so long as you do your report.

I'm excited to do it but to be honest a little concerned that for my final interview I won't be able to understand "the bear" (my nickname I came up with for him lol) but we shall see..

Oh and just as I figured, on the call I was the only person who asked several questions. The other guys were mostly silent after roll call..

Lol I didn't ask questions. Seems straight forward.

Not asking questions is fine if you understand it but I've done studies like this before and many people just want the prize and don't really care about the actual study and hence don't ask questions

I was selected also. I didn't ask questions because it seems straightforward. Start a franchise, play it, answer questions about your experience. What I am interested in seeing is they type of questions they ask. That would give some clues into what they are testing out and/or planning. I mainly play online franchise, that is the mode I enjoy the most, so I hope that we will be able to make some impact for future planning.

So how is everyone's play testing going? Everyone remembering to do their surveys each day?

Just a note that if you are like me and are worried that maybe the survey you did won't register I talked to my contact and she said they'd contact you if you failed to complete a survey. I know, I'm paranoid, lol

Yes, been doing mine. I chose to simulate half of the season so I could get to the offseason and draft to provide feedback on those. Immediately regretted it because the CPU doesn't scout for you while simming. I wound up with a decent draft class, got an 80 OVR RT in the 5th round, but was ticked that I wasn't able to scout as many players.

I also provided feedback on re-signing issues, if I offer fair value to all of my pending free agents, they shouldn't all turn me down. I can understand a few, but not all.

I'd like to thank Millenium for these two free games. Millenium if you're ever in Columbus, I owe you a beer or whatever your drink of choice is!
