FIFA 17 News Post

With the FIFA 17 demo scheduled to be released tomorrow, EA Sports has just posted a new FIFA 17 authenticity blog, covering the new stadiums in the game, new competition presentation, specific commentary in The Journey mode and much more.

New Stadiums
When FIFA 17 launches on September 27 you'll be able to take to the pitch in three new stadiums. Joining West Ham United’s new home will be Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium, alongside Gamba Osaka's Suita City Football Stadium.

New Competition Presentation

The world's oldest football competition, The FA Cup, will now have its own full and authentic overlay package in FIFA 17. This will reflect the competition's real world broadcast package, meaning you'll be able to feel the magic of the cup in every FA Cup match you play.

On top of this, we're adding a number of pitch props and stadium dressings used before, during, and after games to mirror the real-world match day experience. These include:
  • Tunnel Archways
  • Handshake sponsor boards
  • Ball plinths
  • Pitch flags
  • Pyrotechnics
  • Confetti Cannons
  • Home Team corner flags
  • Goal net stanchion colours based on stadium
New animations have also been captured for pre-game, half time & full time, resulting in smoother animation and more polished camera coverage.

New in match performance analysis

Shot and touch information for key attackers will now be tracked in each match. You’ll see this information displayed on a graphic during matches, with commentators picking up on stories to discuss the narrative of the match and the performance of the players involved.

In match Table Analysis

New in-game commentary analysing key talking points around league tables and cup standings makes the football world deeper and more compelling than ever. Matches will take on an even greater sense of importance as you hear commentators discuss six-pointers, surprise packages, title deciders, groups of death and much more via new in-match overlays and audio.

THE JOURNEY-Specific commentary

Play The Journey, the brand new mode in FIFA 17, and you'll hear new commentary lines tracking various storylines which impact upon Alex Hunter. These include key milestones, matches against rival players, and key loans and transfers which directly affect Hunter’s progression in the game.

Match day atmosphere

Feel that match day experience in FIFA 17 with our most realistic recreation of stadium sounds yet.

Two new PA announcers will bring the game to life, including goal scorers and lineups, while we're adding over 500 new chants, making FIFA 17's crowds the most vibrant and dynamic to date. New additions this year include the Icelandic Huh and many new high quality chants from La Liga, Premier League and Championship clubs, alongside the iconic Hala Madrid anthem. (Listen to it here)

New Player emotions

We’ve added greater variety and quality in reaction animations in FIFA 17. You’ll now see your players respond with even more realistic emotion to the agony of missing a golden chance, or the glory of winning a title.

Authentic Manager Focus

At various times during the FIFA 17 broadcast we will now focus on our authentic managers, who you’ll see reacting to bookings, missed scoring opportunities, great saves, and goals.

That's nice to know, thanks for reply. Big plus for me keeping those three in the game... Makes managing them in the Manager mode far more appealing...

If they make it so numbering changes when you are promoted too or relegated... That would be awesome too...

Perhaps for 18 we'll see another big jump in art and mode depth like 15's inclusion of all Premier League Stadiums.

The pessimist feels like the insane popularity of FUT no longer incentivizes big investments outside of gameplay and online balancing, infrastructure, and maintenance.
The new stand looked awesome watching the Liverpool vs Leicester City game. Oh well, I'm sure it will be in next year.

If EA really wanted an updated Anfield, why not just add it later as dlc like PES is doing.

Just a heads up for Xbox ea early access. Don't pre order before the trial hits. In madden and nhl this year if you pre ordered after the trial starts you got an extra 10 hours when the first trial ended. If you pre ordered before the trial all you got was the single 10 hour trial. There is no way to know if Fifa will be like this but it's def worth a shot.

I really cannot believe this is all they are going to have. It is just shocking how poor, how insulting to a real football fan the effort is this year. The Journey is literally the only reason to buy FIFA this year and I'm not sure it's going to be all that good. This is a company that just doesn't interact or listen to its regular fans. It seems to be that decisions and improvements are being made almost exclusively by Americans and Brits, and that FUT gets 90% of the development attention and promotion. The changes to career mode and the new stuff are so superficial that I'll be only getting this at price drop. I am one of the biggest fans of soccer in America and I've spend more time with FIFA than any middle age person ever should, but I'm just fed up with them.

So FIFA has exclusive licensing with La Liga and won't even add stadiums after losing Camp Nou due to the Barca partnership with Konami? Lol.

Many of us have been fussing about this for the last few years sadly. They have the rights to include all stadiums in this game for years now and never add any more. I have been waiting to see the San Mames added EA.

Offline DLC from FIFA? No chance in hell.

so far pes 17 gameplay blows fifa 17 out of the water and it's not even close. fifa 17 feels so clunky and slow

The premier league will be no fun to play if they don't have the new scoreboard and graphics. From all the videos and screenshots I've seen the only licensed ones they have seem to be German bundesliga and the FA cup.

You can see the new Premier League logos around the stadium billboards when you play The Journey on the demo. I would assume the graphics and logos will be there for the release of the game.

The new logo was in the beta, but no game presentation. I'm sure it will be in the final build, since the new logo was already in the beta. Due to the official partnership, I don't see how they could not update it. They probably had the new graphics well before the beta was released.

From the beta vidoes I watched I only saw the screen wipes with the new logo. The new scoreboard wasn't there.

In fifa15 you could clearly see the new premier league presentation with scoreboard in early beta videos and in the demo that was released that year which is why im almost 100% sure it won't be in the retail version.

The scoreboard wasn't there because there was no presentation. Same for bundesliga and La Liga. Everything was generic. I'm confident it will be in the game.

FIFA 15 was the first to have the full Prem presentation package.

I'm not sure what that has to do with the 17 beta?

Weren't you replying to the previous post? Perhaps I misunderstood.
