The shoe heads have been crying since 2k had everyone in those generic biscuits a couple of generations ago.
The thing to look at is that they're improving.
Live did this first with 3d scanning, now 2k did.
Live also scanned uniforms. Maybe 2k will find a way to do that one day as well..especially if this.is successful

Pretty sure the filters were for the trailer, seeing that in the classic arena, they still had a 3-point line that didn't exist til 1980.
Shoes look great. Hopefully they'll still have room to add shoes over the course of the year again.

Regarding faces, it looks like they have increased the contrast, the sharpness and the details so much, that faces look good...but then may look weird. Players look 10 years older because of that. It's like, they tried to make everything look so good, that it's starting to look off (In other words, as I always say about McDonald's and all these foods: it's so good, that it's disgusting).
