I picked up M17 day one and played a few games; but decided I didn't want to start up a franchise until some fine tuning was done with some patches ... was comfortable waiting because I'm still enjoying the franchise I've got going on from M16 which is around 25 seasons or so into it ... won't lie that the comfort and familiarity with it made some of the changes I saw while checking out the new franchise mode frustrating (like applying XP to players seemed to involve more steps now) but that may work out once I finally take the full dive into M17 and get familiar with everything.

I have noticed in the game there is never a botched snap. Ever! The C does not actually snap the ball directly to the QB. It just warps to his hands under C. The same thing for Shotgun snaps and long snaps. The ball just warps to position. Even with hand offs tosses and pitches the same thing can be said, positioning does not influence the ability to make an exchange in those instances. So i believe the new ball physics only affect the ball when it is loose and up for grabs. Maybe EA Tiburon can patch in a full animation of a snap and a handoff

I really doubt they can patch animations.

Im passing this year, but it seems like the team is attempting to get going in the right direction.

I honestly can't for the life of me understand how they have not changed the foundation of the OL/DL battle. It literally looks almost noting like the real game, and its looked basically the same for probably a decade. This needs to be totally revamped, but for some reason, it just does not seem like something they care to address for whatever reason.

The game has a long way to go till I consider buying it again. NBA2K has shown what a development team can do with a sports game, and this just has to many holes for me as a primarily sim franchise guy.

All of the improvements across the board are great, however I have to say Madden 17 is a lot more sloppy & unpolished compared to 16 which is preventing me from enjoying the game. The game has reverted back to the excessive player clipping mainly after the play when players are getting up from the pile. Players are constantly walking through players bodies lying on the field, limbs fusing together, body parts going through the field on tackles, etc...This is a HUGE eyesore & immersion killer for me. The physics look great at times but it's very inconsistent. I don't understand how this area of the game has regressed since last year. They had this cleaned up in 16! What happened EA? I seriously hope they clean this up in a patch otherwise I'll be returning the game. I understand most games suffer from some sort of clipping, but when it's as glaring as it is in 17 it's something I just can't look past. Again they had it cleaned up last year so it's not like it can't be done.

There are high snaps in shotgun where the QB jumps. In 16, I also had a shotgun snap sail and bounce towards the endzone for a safety but it may have been a glitch since it was the first time it ever happened to me in any Madden. I also completely agree about the momentum thing - this is especially prevalent in All-Madden as a contribution to the difficulty. It's so blatantly obvious. They also need to add reach animation on runs towards the sideline markers. Madden would finally be where it needs to be when the gameplay is as fantastic as the commentary. The only time I've ever thought something was fantastic in Madden.

Why does that slot receiver popup happen? Initially I thought it was alerting me to when the AI was moving players around (e.g. moving AB84 to the slot), but it happens when everyone is in their base position.

Ryan Spencer made some good points!
1. CPU gameplay!

Still legacy gameplay issues, like no real true pocket, QBs too accurate, and LBs getting hands on balls they should in no way be able to. So nothings changed there. But I can live with all that. It would be nice for them to get more into the franchise mode aspect, but I feel it wont ever happen. Ruins the immersion for me. Things like the CPU simply going by overall for their depth chart, which is just too dumb to sit and explain everything wrong with that. Also, Kirk Cousins asked for about 9.8 mil a year for four years. Has Madden paid attention to starting QB salaries in the NFL since like 2002? He basically asked for the backup from Philly money (I forget his dam name). So every team just resigns their players and never ever go near the cap. Players are happy being underpaid, because their just happy their in the game?? Maybe Idk, ut things like that kill it for me. Oh and stop letting the CPU sign 6' 3" 240 pound DEs to play in a 3-4. It just doesnt work that way.

Lol good ole madden whining what would world be without it lol solid game no complaints other than stuff the devs have already said they want to include.... And the servers keep kicking me out. Other than that I'm having a blast

For a game that supposedly emphasized improving (overhauling) franchise mode, it's very disappointing to see so many bugs/glitches in the mode, especially considering many aspects of the mode received very little attention, or non at all (see owners mode). I'll wait to see what the next patch addresses to determine if enough bugs/glitches have been fixed to warrant a purchase.

The momentum issue kills key plays for me....If I throw a WR screen or throw to a wide open WR in the flat, they should catch the ball, plant their feet and turn upfield for the pending 1st down or TD in some cases....instead they make the catch and continue out of bounds as if they have no awareness or bodily control.

This is a huge legacy issue that needs to be fixed.
