Hackers Take EA Servers Down, Madden NFL 17 & Many Other EA Games Impacted

Hackers took down the EA servers last night and again today, as the EA support team attempts to resolve the issue as quickly as possible. You can check the status here.

This obviously impacts online games, modes, etc. for Madden NFL 17 and other EA games. As more information comes in, we will update this post.

I've experienced server issues from EA in NHL, FIFA and Madden. You can't trust the stability coming from EA.

This is why I will never do online single player franchise. I learned this the hard way back in NCAA when I tried it because the online functionality was great (recruiting from my phone at work? Awesome!) But the first time you have a great game that just gets erased due to your internet or their servers it ruins everything.

If they wanted to get me back into online franchise for single player they'd need to add some redundant systems that let you at least finish your game and save if the servers went down.

I played a ton of online franchise games in 16 and this almost never happened but in 17 I've already had this happen 4-5 times so I switched to an iffline franchise.

This is exactly why I no longer buy digital versions of these games, and don't play online.

Give me a physical disc and an offline solo mode and I'm good.

There are too many jacktards running around who want nothing but to cause people grief.

Sorry for all those that are unable to play their games because of this, I know it sucks. Hope it's back up for you guys soon.

I can play my digital copy just fine right now, regardless of any server issues....

I know, but there have been times in the past where PSN would be down, or something like that, and digital games wouldn't work. I meant more along those lines..

PSN being down doesn't stop me from playing my digital games either, as long as the PS4 I'm playing on is the active console on my account.

Madden is the only game i have that will randomly kick me off the servers for no reason. i can be just in the franchise menus or doing scouting then boom...lost connection with ea servers. back to the main menu and im still logged in to ea servers and never lost connection to live...wtf!

Was right in the middle of a CFM game just now and got kicked. Now I can't even log back in.

I'm currently running test drafts in preparation for my draft tonight and it's been up and down for me all day.

Oddly, Madden is the only game I get kicked from as well. Main reason I went offline instead of cloud, even though I like some of the benefits of cloud. Hopefully they get it fixed up.

EDIT: A little OT. The offline save when putting in rest mode. I know stat sheet doesn't show INTS anymore in the game, but do they show on the players stats for the year after the game is over?

Seems to be having an effect on offline franchise too. The game is freezing everytime I manuel save.

I've never had this issue in any of my cloud franchises. That being said, I use offline for my solo franchise, for a few other reasons:

1) I can put my console in rest mode in the middle of a game if something comes up, and come back later and pick up where I left off.

2) I can control multiple characters in one franchise.

Definitely going to do my Bears franchise offline but now that means I have to wait until they patch everything.
