Madden NFL 17 News Post

The Madden NFL 17 team have just announced their Franchise Mode website will not be available at launch. They shifted their focus towards a Native Mobile Companion App early in the development process. We will post updates as we hear more.

Quote:
Early on during our development cycle, the team decided that we would shift our focus from maintaining and supporting the Franchise Mode website in favor of developing a Native Mobile Companion App. At launch of Madden NFL 17, there will not be a Franchise Mode website for you to go to and interact with your league. As for a potential Companion App – we are still exploring the possibilities and will be quick to update you as and when information becomes available.

EA hasn't even updated their site to Madden 17 ultimate

I find Daddyleagues similar to a site called MUTHEAD. MH is basically the database/forum for ultimate team. They are allowed to promote new cards before release and there is clearly a open partnership. It works.

Dev team focuses on creating new cards and MUTHEAD focuses on new website features to assist players.

The same should be for CFM, in my opinion. Outsource the online companion app/website and focus delivering patches and new features.

I started my CFM last night, it's killing me not being able to access it via the web here at my work.

Well, while i did prefer DL way of spending points alot over trying to do it on the EA website( because quite frankly DL just did a better job with it and many other features as well).I feel like since it was a function on the ea website ,you probably will be able to spend xp on app . i dont know that for sure, but just thinking if they already had it, probably being ported to app, maybe they took some notes from DL and fixed it to work better on app.

To me , as long as i can get a function for those things from app thats fine with me. DL still provides alot to a league for 2$ a month even without the advance button, trades,fa pick ups, and spending xp.

And i feel you on that last part. Id love to look over the test league i started at work right now.Guess ill have to be more productive instead. Maybe do another page layout haha.

Damn, the DaddyLeagues pages used the EA website to get all the CFM info, stats, etc.

This explains why you can't purchase a page there for M17 yet. I'm sure it'll all workout soon.

Sorry for the dumb question, but I don't do any online gaming at all - if I just want to do a solo Franchise (on PS4), can I do that without having Playstation Plus membership? I would love the ability to tinker with my Franchise away from my PS4 (presuming they do ever release the app), but I am not sure it would be worth getting PS+ just to do it. Thanks for the help!

DL probably isn't going to work anymore after this switch...I really hope Papi refunds anyone who paid for a subscription for a '17 league....

Yeah...I wouldnt get your hopes up of this getting fixed any time soon. Or that this so called APP will be everything franchise players dreamed of. I'm sure it will be heavily MUT focused since that's how EA/Madden makes money. If franchise stuff is even on the APP it will definitely be a after thought.

The crazy thing is Daddyleagues had no idea about this untill launch day. EA leaving us out to dry. Wants us all to play MUT and buy card packs.. smh

Yeah, obviously you didnt see the message DL put out yesterday, i posted above with a link. So ill just quote it here :

"We are working with EA on a solution to integrate the stats into our website, we will post another update as we get more information"

Also taken directly from DL :

"We will not be able to sign/release and trade players from the site.
We are getting access to additional stats, such as drops on WR, sacks on QB, TD on defensive players and we will be able to show the players traits.
Curious about the players traits? go to this league and then find the players you would like to check and click the traits tab."

So yeah, it will be working with 17. Also , i dont get people worrying if Papi would refund people money for the very few who paid earlier, IF it didnt work.Once he found out it was going to be more than a couple weeks out he closed the sign ups for 17 , because of the extra delay. He does not cheat people out of their money,he has done this for over 4 years now and hasnt cheated people, not sure why someone would try to insinuate that he would all the sudden now.Ive seen a person in another group say this as well, someone who clearly has an agenda against him.Funny thing about that guy , i heard from numerous league guys that that same guy( making this claim about Papi) took money up for a prize for their league and ran off with it , never paid it out.

The guy has done a great amount of work , as a side project from his full time job. Done a better job at what he provided than whoever EA has had working on their site, by himself.Personally I think the guy deserves alot of credit for his work and continually improving his site in ways that he can each year. He dosen't at all deserve to have people insinuating that he would take peoples money and run. Thats just wrong. Some reason people tend to freak out when something isnt like it has been. Some things have changed , so it makes sense it will take alittle longer to get DL working. I mean how can it work when the App isnt even out yet?

Literally, everything you said is incorrect.

I created a connected career and put the difficulty on all Madden but when I go to the in game menu it says it's on pro please tell me I'm missing something here and if anyone else is having this problem

My CFM has used Daddyleagues since the website launched 3 or 4 Maddens ago so it will suck if we don't get it this year. I know some guys are saying it's going to work but I'm just skeptical EA is going to turn over the data to some kind of exclusive deal and allow them to make money off the data, even though they have allowed it in the past. The fact that papi seemed to be blindsided by this news I think is evidence there is no deal.

Daddyleagues website was easier to navigate and view stats/attributes than anything EA produced. It would be nice if EA produced an API so fans/developers could also create apps to use for CFM.

Papi already has a demo page up . He will be able to pull stats.

Thats all 17 stuff there. Im not sure why people still doubt this will happen. He clearly already is able to get stats. Its more a matter of not being able to pull data from a league from an app that people dont have yet.

I dont know that we believe he wont be able to do it... How does that phrase go again?

" - Impatience is a virtue and the best things in life you don't have to wait for?"

You seem very confident it will happen, I am skeptical. You must have some inside info I don't have. I'm just going off what I am observing.

If he has access to the stats then what's the hold-up? What kind of deal can he make with EA to get exclusive access to the data? I would love to be able to download the data into excel myself if there's a way to get it.

Pokemon go apps recently got shut down for data scraping and making money off the game. Seems like EA could be doing the same thing here.

i don't really want to bug you with this, but if you see this and have a minute, are you able to speak on functionality, or at least say if we'll still be able to spend XP?

Any word on the progress of this?

It annoys me that this app wasn't made and released before the game dropped. And if you didn't have it read, update the website so we have something in the meantime. Not being able to view rosters while at work, is s pain when you're running an online CFM with 32 users. Makes approving trades take even longer.
