NBA 2K16 Announces 2K StreamCast Feature For Road to the Finals eSports Competition

2K Sports has announced the addition of 2K StreamCast for the inaugural competitive eSports competition, Road to the Finals, starting May 21. This allows players to spectate NBA 2K16 games both in-progress and once they’re finished, from Xbox One and PS4 consoles.

You’ll be able to hop in live to watch games streamed directly from your console. All Road to the Finals games will also be on-demand once they’ve ended, for you to view whenever you want.

Sixteen teams will be facing off from 10am – 6pm PST to determine the two finalists that will compete for the championship on June 1. You can check out the Road to the Finals bracket here.

Dozens of accessory complaints? Now that's just bull**** right there....there hasn't been a thread about accessories since Beds took helm with the roster updates.

That same beds can't put headband on Drummond, took out Otto Porter Jr. glasses, can't put headband on Willie Cauley Stein and many more examples. So there may not be lots of threads as i said but i saw numerous times posts like 'why Drummond doesn't have headband' or 'why you changed D. Rose hair but not other players'...list is too long.

Conclusion: Stuff like that beds can't control, it's graphic/art stuff and yet people will ask these questions as long as they play this game.

I feel like the whole tourney was absolutely trash since the jump.

I read the rules and was like...nope.
Didn't play once. Not a single second.

...why should anyone care, you ask?

Well I been the dude on here crying for this mode to come back lol, and saying how cool it'd be if there was playoffs or titles you could win against other teams for the past like 5 years...

I had a top 50 ranked team, just stopped playing. Found myself literally having to use exploits just to beat other "top" teams and once that happens my vibe's killed. I like winning off real ball. Real strategies you see team's in the playoff's using. You can still do it now, but before this patch it was an absolute mess.

So that alone shows who's playing in the tournament. Cuz guys like me who actually missed the competition ain't even in it. It's the new guys who just started playing.

I mean catching the stream is a cool feature..but not to watch the fake ball that's gonna be on there.

Some things I've noticed so far, stream chat is worse than a disease and the courts are awful. It's kind of funny to me that there is improper grammar on this court they are playing on right now.

Yeah it was an eyesore to me, I also thought there would be more moderation in the chat but it's pretty much the most immature thing I've ever seen.

Lol so far one teams entire offense seems to be Isi the of at the freethrow line then have him post up and try to spin past his defender for a dunk and if it doesn't work they just pass out and try again

It looks like more like tennis match lol, possesions dont even last more than 10 seconds.

NOBODY slows the tempo, turbo to the other court and set a high screen, then drive and kick/layup.
The other strategy, transition 3s. That's all what I see.

I just watched the last 3 in-game minutes of the most recent game (I think GL and TW). I never been more bored in my life. It was the worst basketball in 2K I ever watched. And I'm not just talking about the game itself, I'm talking about the atmosphere. It's dry, bland, it's so empty. No commentary, no bench, barely an audience reaction. Just the sounds of whistles and basketball bouncing. Plus, you can't even change the camera even a little bit. The camera is okay (not being nit picky) but I wished to at least be able to watch from different angles. This is awful man, from the tournament concept of it to the qualifications down to the final product of what we're seeing today. The only positive I can think of is the 2K StreamCast feature itself being so crisp with the streaming and quality.

The skill level in this game is an absolute joke. You can clearly see that these teams got to where they're at by abusing Break Starter against bum teams.. White team stays in 3-2 zone constantly even though there has been a guy wide open in the corner for the entire game holding his sack, but the PG is so bad that the corner man never gets the ball.. It's like I'm watching a parody of a basketball game.

It's so bad, I can't believe they are giving away money for this.

The only nice thing I've seen so far is The Bad Boyz logo, looks pretty cool. Everything else has been beyond terrible.

The fact that they're trying to make this into an E-Sport makes my head explode.. Other games that are E-Sports like League of Legends, DOTA 2, CSGO, COD, Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat.. You earn money by being the best at them. Scouting the other player, learning matchups, being the most skilled player.. Everything I've seen of 2K's "best" players, it's all a certain build meta, find the cheesiest moves that you can find, be better at exploiting said cheese moves than your opponent.. Totally the same thing as the high skill cap ESports games.

What a finish in one of semifinal game. One team got completely screwed by a nonsensical protected shot animation on the last second wide open shot .

Pretty great commentary by da_czar. Watching those guys on twitch.tv was annoying as hell.

That was a pretty epic ending.

The Road to the Finals StreamCast through NBA 2K16 needs announcers. I find it entertaining nonetheless, but it might just be because I enjoy Pro-Am.
