How is the create a golfer feature and did they tone down the over the top celebrations that created golfers indulge in?

Thanks.
Create a golfer is bare bones. They did remove the ridiculous celebrations out of everything but *cough* Night Golf *cough*.....

Got 3 rounds in at Banff already tonight. Freaking love it! It looks great, and it's a blast to play IMO. Played during the day, morning, and evening. Just looks fantastic. It's like Christmas to me. Its my favorite course. One of my next vacations is going to be out there to play a round. It's on my bucket list for sure. Just a gorgeous, scenic golf course, in an amazingly beautiful area of Canada.

I never thought I'd see Banff in Rory, but man... I'm so glad it's here.

Good update but still no online game modes like alternate shot or best ball? Come on EA, a year later and we still don't have the option to play a team based match with friends online? It's kind of ridiculous if you think about it. Ranked matches are 9 holes too...who's idea was that? Why hasn't that been changed yet? A round of golf is 18 holes...

Amen brother, it is my favorite too. I was so wonderfully surprised when I saw the update complete, popped in the game and saw Banff on my course list! Plays great and looks just STUNNING.

Thanks EA, that made my day!

Now lets have a California Dreaming DLC pack with Pebble Beach, Spyglass, Poppy Hills, and Torrey Pines

If you look back at all my posts relating to RMPGAT, with every course update I probably said... give me Banff, and Pebble Beach and I'm thrilled. One down, one to go!

Personally I'm very happy with what EA has done with this title. They promised that additions would be made and they delivered. No way in hell would I go back back to golfing on the 360. Won't complain if they continue to add via this route.

Loaded it up for the first time in a few months and it definitely was more smooth and polished. I wish the career mode had a money list though. Nitpicky, I know, but it's the "little things."

My gamertag is PokerLife add me if you want to play alternate shot sometime.. I prefer 3 click on hardest settings but i will try tour pro.. Can never get full power with the stick

How are world and fedex rankings for you guys? I started my career day one and I'm in year 6 or 7, I cant remember. But there's a lot of guys in the top 10 who shouldn't be. Though Rory and Speith are both top 5, those are the only 2 normal ones. Day is something like 12. Fowler isn't even in the top 30. My guy is obviously maxed out at this point. I have been number 1 in the rankings and right now I believe I'm 3.

My question is do you think I should start over? I hate seeing all these guys missing from the rankings. Has anyone started a career recently and has a rankings list after atleast 1 or 2 seasons played?

Actually, the original form of golf was 9 holes therefore that is the true way to play

But the reason why it's nine holes is because a lot of people were quitting during 18 hole rounds in the game according to Handsward (EA dev).

It's definitely not nitpicky at all, and it's a very valid complaint. I got this game on day one and have enjoyed it quite a bit for what it is. That being said, I still haven't jumped full into the Career Mode because it's just not very deep. I'll probably get into it more now that there are several more courses in the rotation, but I definitely want more depth as far as Career Mode goes. If they do end up releasing another golf game in the next couple years, I think Career Mode needs to most attention. If they beef it up some and add in a few new courses, the game will be a hit!

I was honestly thinking this game has sold 100,000 copies by the way people talk about it. The fact it has sold nearly 700,000 copies in less than a year bodes well for a future golf title in my opinion. We'll see though. In the meantime, there is plenty to do in this game moving forward!

I was finally able to get a round in at Banff Springs yesterday. The course looks amazing. The mountains, pine trees, water, even the Fairmont Hotel in the background. It all looks great.

Make sure to play it with the time of day set to "Morning", as some of the best visuals come through. The mist above the pond on Hole 4 (The Devil's Cauldron) is almost breathtaking. The sunlight shining through the trees is also a nice touch.

It is a pretty easy course...many of the fairways are generous and wide. The only part that gave me fits was the greens. They were hard to read and were quite challenging when set on Sunday pin placements and Tournament settings.

Even though Banff Springs is an old holdover from the TW and Links series, it's a great addition to current-gen golf. I'd give it a solid 8/10.

I played it in the evening and had a few jaw dropping wow that looks visually awesome moments, I'll have to check it out in the morning now too. Love this course addition, it's gorgeous.

I'll find out soon if they added it to career mode, I'm in year 10 and haven't played in a while but luckily when I fired it up the last place I was at was the tour championship with a fresh season around the corner.

Same reason I do three-click now, cheesy I know but I love that power up animation when you smash one.

It truly is a beautifully rendered course.

I just started a new season as well...looks like Banff Springs hosts the Alberta Open, which is two events before the EA Spring Invitational. Not sure if any other events are played at Banff Springs later in the year.

I haven't really been following this game since its initial release when I played it for maybe 2 hours. I wasn't really that impressed with it. Based on my short time with it I would have rated it maybe a 6/10. A lot of game reviewers gave it a similar score, in fact Metacritc has it at a 6. Considering the initial review scores and all of the patches that have come out, what would you rate it now? What did you initially rate the game? I'm interested in giving the game another look.

If you didn't like it on initial release you still won't like it.......

Dang, there have been a few games that I liked better after extensive patching, was hoping that was the case here as well.

That's not even close to true IMO.

They've added several courses, and offline game modes, and many tweaks to gameplay over the 9 or so updates. It's changed and grown alot.

Career is still... shallow. However, all the new courses appear on the career calendar, so its technically grown. Customization still lacks. No new equipment or clothing was added, nor was any character appearance options.

Online, I can't speak for. I don't play it online.

However, with all due respect, to say you probably still won't like it... I just don't get that opinion. It's changed, alot.

I'd recommend firing it up, and playing some rounds, and jumping back into career if you started it. As I mentioned, all the new courses released will seamlessly integrate into your career schedule.

The newest update from last week also allows for alternating venues for the US and British open.

so, alot has changed that's improved the game. Unless you're looking for customization.
