The most important thing was going back to easy and figuring things out on offense. I picked up that I was swinging too early on outside pitches. Causing a lot of weak contact.

So I'm waiting deeper on pitches. After doing that, I bumped the difficulty to hard and finally saw success despite the higher difficulty.

I won 4-1 in my latest game but I'm still struggling to hit home runs. I'm sure those will come as I get better on the inside plate pitches.

Would be nice to see video of how hitting works. I understand the concept of sweet spot on the bat, can't make contact on the handles, soft contact off the end of the bat, etc. But an actual video with pauses at opportune times to swing, plus a freeze frame on the perfect contact, would be very helpful for newcomers.

I really like the hitting in RBI. On hard I get to be strategic with pitching which is what I want. And now that I'm understanding some of what I was doing wrong with timing, I'm hitting better on Hard. This game is a really really nice mix of arcade simulation.

Fast games. Quick counts. No warm up. But the hit quality is realistic. The batter pitcher battle is realistic. Good game.

My go to baseball purchase from now on. Work on a franchise mode and it will be amazing.

Also don't get rid of the current "rating" system. Perfect as it is.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this or not but a really nice little touch would've been to have a 'Player of the Game' awarded at the end of each game.

I also wish the 'moving parts' of a stadium worked. Like the waterfall in KC, or the train on Houston, or the beer guy sliding on a HR in Milwaukee, etc.

I continue to enjoy this game but I've now gotten to the point that I've thrown three straight shutouts on Hard. Granted it's the Phillies and Braves, it still seems like it shouldn't happen quite so easily. So I have a thought.

I think the Cpu hitters are not patient enough. I understand wanting to speed up the game but let's think this through. I can throw pitches just off the corners and get most hitters to chase or swing through (handle can't make contact right).

If the Cpu would take more of those pitches, it would force me to throw more pitches over the plate and speed up the game as contact leads to more outs than a single swing and a miss.

It will also help the Cpu score more runs on hard.

Not worried about their power right now. But their extreme willingness to swing at pitches off the plate allows me to abuse the spots and win games rather easily.

As always I can provide video to showcase what I'm talking about if necessary.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, and I'm not sure if it happens ALL the time, but at least most of the time a batter will get charged with making an out on a sac fly, which should not be the case. It should be handled as no at-bat like a walk. I've seen it happen to me several times.

I'm on the Xbox one and please tell me how to change my lineup before a game? I'm trying to add players from the "manage rosters" menu. I want to add players from "reserves" into the starting lineup.

How do I do this and when or where do I save this? And do I need to load the new roster I made before my next game in "season" mode?

Thank u

It's been quite frustrating .

And how do I load the most current MLB rosters for season play?

To make permanent changes you have to do it from the season screen or main menu for exhibition games. Once you make the changes just back out and the game will prompt you to save your changes.

As far as loading the most recent rosters you do that from the main menu. I forget where it is exactly, I think under Options.

That didn't work I followed your instructions. I sent MLB a ticket. This is ridiculous. I just managed my roster. Saved it. Then went to continue my season and the roster I just saved isn't my lineup! Ugh so dumb.

Manage Rosters in the Main Menu has no effect on an in-progress Season.

In order to adjust your roster for an in-progress Season: Continue your saved Season and then choose MY ROSTER from the Season Hub (the screen with "TODAY'S GAME" at the top).

You cannot import a new downloaded roster update into an in-progress Season file. If you want to use the latest downloaded roster, you will need to start a new Season. (if you know of any games that allow you to import a new roster into your in-progress Season/Franchise, please let us know - we'd love to check it out.)

Kool! I managed to do accomplish what I wanted via your explanation! Thanks! It was driving me to drink.

whats the difference between managing rosters from game day hub and modifying the lineup before the game?

# 151 MLBGames @ 05/23/16 01:46 PM
Manage Rosters in the main menu allows you to customize rosters for use in Exhibition or for starting a new Season or Postseason file. In Manage Rosters you can adjust every team's roster. Once inside Season/Postseason, My Roster only allows you to adjust your own team's roster.

Manage Rosters also allows you to adjust which roster is the "active" (currently loaded) roster for Exhibition games, via the Load / Delete option.

My Roster essentially sets your default lineups. Adjusting pre-game is a one-time change for that game only.

wow a wee bit confusing but I think I understand. thanks a lot. It was something bothering me for awhile and couldn't distinguish.

As well it seems nobody plays online. I guess not many people have this game, unfortunately. I wouldn't mind trying a game online. Good thing is games don't last long.

I've tried looking for people online and I must be on when no one else is looking.

I just got the game for the Xbox one and I can honestly say I like it...I like it a lot . What I like is it reminds me of the new days when the controls were simple and yet the games are intense and it's just plain fun. I like the pitching & batting mechanics fielding is ok so far I'm still learning how to track the ball. I like that the games are quick so I can get in at least a couple of games within an hour easily, the graphics are a good start ( ya I know they aren't on par with the show) considering I'm not paying $70 for the game. I really like where the MLB team is going with the game, last year was the foundation to gameplay and mechanics this year we got multiple seasons while the game play is being refined, this is basically the same playbook the was used for RBI back in the nes, snes days I see what they are doing, they are taking their time and building a solid foundation before adding this and that for a quick cash grab and I for one am happy to see that for a change. Keep up the good work guys!!!!
