The submissions are hard to pull off. Defending isn't hard, but trying to execute it is too hard imo.

I would suggest going to YouTube. Search Martialmind. Has a couple basic ground tutorial vids that are quite helpfull. I'm waiting on one to recognize the directions /tells to block submission attempts.
