Madden NFL 16 News Post

Madden patch 1.09 is available now with some pretty big changes to the core gameplay experience. The Madden team discussed the patch on a Twitch stream today, here are some highlights:

  • A fix is in to prevent multiple nano-blitzes using the B-Gap. The RG will now always look inside to outside for blocking assignments.
  • The 'playcalling/pause' freeze is fixed (where you lose input data and have to dashboard).
  • Untimed downs will occur at the right times (this also fixes the FG Block glitch).
  • A rare bug where QB sacks were creating a stopped clock has been fixed.
  • User QBs will now get less of an accuracy penalty on All Madden difficulty level.
  • Patch notes also mention general stability improvements (aka less freezes).
Be sure to play a few games and let us know what you think of the changes in the space below!

I've been railing about weather in career modes for years(Especially in NCAA). I didn't get Madden until after a patch broke CFM weather from what i understand. hopefully its fixed in this patch so i can play in something other than sunshine

Weather REALLY needs to be addressed.

I dont think a patch brook the weather. From day 1 in madden 16 in CFM you get like nothing but sun shine and like 20 MPH wind ever game.

I really want them to bring back Live Weather . I am pretty sure it was madden 10 that had it. It was linked with The Weather Channel and whatever the weather was in the city your game was being played in, at the moment you were playing, is what the weather was in game. That really needs to be brought back, its was awesome.

Personally I never had a problem with weather in my online CFM. Is this specifically an offline problem?

Agreed, another great feature taken out of the game

Me either, and I was playing offline. I've seen rain a fair bit; never snow, but I haven't really played anywhere where snow was viable.

Weather is just tuned weird for online CFM, and I'm not even sure it really works in offline. Like you'll have a sunny game in late December and the temperature will be 34, but the fans will be in shorts. Unless the weather goes below 32 the game doesn't trigger the cold fan gear or breath.

One of the things I heard Rex state was that if you play All-Madden, less over throws for the user QB.

I went to the Mutcast late, that's all I gleaned except for nano blitzes.

Another point Rex made is that the CEO of EA, when he first came in, said the players/paying customers come first. Rex said we just don't want 60 dollars in August and say thank you and walk away.

They want to provide content throughout the year.

So it wont fix the same issue on all pro where qb overthrows wr by 20 yards at times?

I don't notice that with preseason roster and everything else on default with adjusted penalty's.

I don't have an answer for that one because I don't encounter it.

Cool. They fixed the bug where the clock would stop sometimes after a QB sack. That one annoyed me, especially when it happened at the end of games.

ND, a suggestion, don't know if works solidly as I'm trying out a new CFM, but it's been suggested to turn off accelerated clock by some slider testers at OS. This should result in dirty uniforms and more varied weather.

Which is unfortunate since a lot of people tweeted the devs, and several of them said they'd look into it. Guess it was a harder fix than could be implemented in a patch?

I'vr gotten the dirty unis playing with no accel. clock which was great, however playing the rest of the NFC-N teams in the winter months haven't given me anything in regards to varied winter weather. This is an online solo CFM. So it works for field degredation and dirty unis, but it hasn't done much with the weather in my experience. I'm probably going to start over and see if i get any change in that regard.

I dunno why you all are complaining about weather, our 32 man X1 Online CFM sees a variety of weather, sun, wind, rain, and snow...

I've had accelerated clock off for about 9 games. I haven't noticed much with weather outside of less wind and more overcast (not necessarily raining). Jerseys getting dirty is the biggest thing that stands out with it off.

Good for you?

Maybe it's because in my offline CFM I'm in Year 4 and every single game has been sunny.

In my online CFM there is a good mixture of weather.
