The devs show up at a teams ST facility and scans the players who were there that day. I think it's optional so a couple guys might have declined and a couple of the guys who were absent they don't get scanned either. Maybe Abreu and Cespedes said no? or they probably weren't there or if they did get scanned maybe they have one of those faces that gets screwed up for some reason when doing these types of things.
That's what I think they do not sure though
Thanks for the response. Cespedes, by the videos I have seen has finally got a good scan.
Staying on topic with the body types, I noticed in the Franchise video that Miguel Sano has the 'fat' body type as well. By no means is he in fantastic shape, but I truly think he falls under buff more than fat. Hopefully there's a chance it can get fixed, but if not, no big deal.
Lots of people have been pointing out the "fat" players this year. I guess at this point I'd rather they give everyone one of the two smaller types and then only assign the fat one to select players. There aren't that many players with bellies really. Marlon Byrd isn't "fat" with a gut. It's almost like the game automatically assigns the fat one when a player of a certain weight gets added in. WIP of course, but lots of "fat" players popping up in the streams this year. Hopefully if they show the same players in later streams there will be less of the "fat" body type.
Total botch job on David Price's new pitching motion. He hasn't really made any adjustments to his delivery in years. His wind, leg lift, arm angle, follow through, they all look the same now as they did when he pitched for the Rays, so I'm not sure what could necessitate a new pitching motion, especially when the one they already had in the game was close to perfect. My single favorite thing about The Show is how well it captures player likeness (mainly batting stances and pitching motions), but sometimes they mess with pkayers too much. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Exactly what i was thinking when i saw his new delivery.
His delivery looked perfectly fine last year, 10x better than the new one he has this year.
His old delivery had his finish where he leaves one leg up and one arm up, no idea why they'd change it to one of these half finished deliveries they've been doing the last 2 years.
I also don't know why they changed Rizzo's batting stance from last year, his stance last year was a lot better last year.

I feel like nobody is going to complain if Panda is given the fat body type:
I am kind of surprised that no one has mentioned yet that only 1 batting camera is returning from 15 the rest were all re done. I wonder which when is returning?

He should get the fat body type, thing is Chris Davis, Kyle Schwarber ,and Anthony Rizzo should not have his body type.
I asked Ramone if the assigned body types were still WIP and if they could be changed on Twitter but didn't hear back. Really hoping that they can still be changed, but it would just be nice to know either way.
It seems odd because I know that Rizzo did not have that body type in 15. I think the same is true for others as well. The OSFM guys did a great job on Schwarber last year too so it's jarring to see him and Rizzo (and others, I just notice the Cubs players more) with 'panda guts' this year
No more classic catcher (2) ?! [emoji33]
I could always go into custom camera right?
I mean I might like the fisheye view but I don't like the pitcher being so small.
For those of you complaining about weather and double headers etc, there's obviously a technical reason as to why they don't have those features in.
I could see rain delays being added in at some point. But rain outs mean a lot of work probably to come up with re-scheduling algorithms to pick a day for the makeup game or double header.
With a rain delay, they could add some presentation pieces and fast forward the time of day a certain amount within a range (say 30 minutes to 3 hours or whatever). And maybe subtract 20% starting pitcher stamina for every hour or something like that.
For rain outs and setting up re-scheduled games and double headers, the slightest mis-step in the logic for handling it could probably really screw up scheduling. Sure it could be done, but maybe once the game is really, really mature on the PS4. Something to add in when about everything else they envision being in the game is already in and working exactly the way they want it.
I can't remember if it was old PS2 versions of The Show, or maybe it was MVP/Triple Play that actually had thunder sounds when it was raining? Or maybe I'm thinking of something else...
Hate to break it you but that means less than nothing.
Yea I know that. Was just giving the answer that others would eventually bring up. It's probably a lot of hours of coding and testing to make sure everything is working perfectly like you guys strive for.
Hate to break it you but that means less than nothing.
Stands to reason that it is more than feasible on the ps4 though since the ps4 is superior to the ps2.
I'm not too technologically savy or anything, but i don't understand why things would be easier on an older inferior system like the ps2 compared to a newer superior one? Shouldn't it be the opposite?
For example, closed roofs was on the ps2/ps3, teams wearing their own uniform in the all star game, rain delays apparently. Mlb 2k7 had "cloth physics"
So why is that these things are harder to implement on ps4 now? Is it that the newer technology is too complicated, has far more intricacies to take into account?
