WWE 2K16 News Post

WWE 2K16 patch 1.05 is available now for PlayStation 4 fans, no word yet on Xbox One. The patch fixes the Universe Mode issue gamers were having after downloading the Future Stars pack and much more.

UPDATE: (2-3) The patch should be available for Xbox One and Xbox 360 sometime today. Here are the patch notes.

Patch notes applicable to Universe Mode:
  • Addressed an issue that occurred when the “WWE 2K16 Future Stars Pack” was installed where certain WWE Universe elements would reset (ongoing rivalries, calendar changes, edited shows, championship rankings) and changes wouldn’t save properly when exiting the mode or restarting the title. The level of impact varied by user, but users who replaced a default show slot with a Custom Show are more likely to have been impacted. Rivalries, calendar changes, custom shows, and championship rankings can now be manually readjusted.
  • Users who installed the WWE 2K16 Future Stars Pack on Patch 4 and encountered issues with Universe elements resetting may not be able to recover all data from their pre-WWE 2K16 Future Stars Pack installation WWE Universe save state, particularly with regards to statistics and ongoing rivalry stories for shows impacted by the reset. Affected users should not have to reset their entire Universe save state to continue playing the mode, which will now save changes properly.

They did a good job fixing the problem with the Future Stars Pack so quickly (even if it never should have happened in the first place), but it looks like they STILL haven't fixed the "Stone Cold Says So" Trophy bug that has been in the game since day one. Ugh.

I'm glad to see that they've added pre-release support for the Hall of Fame Showcase. I'm going to assume that they pushed this patch out early to cover the Future Stars Pack bug, so the Showcase itself isn't that close to release, but this probably means that it will be out this month as opposed to closer to Wrestlemania like some people have guessed.

Always nice to see a ton of fixes, even if I haven't experienced many of these bugs first hand. Keep up the good work 2k, and for the love of God, please bring back all of the classic entrance motions next year! Creating an entrance is such a bummer right now.

Nice to see these must have changes, although when they said "Rivalry matches are no longer removed when simulating normal matches on a card and then altering one of the Rivalry Superstars in the Customize Universe menu", this means I can finally edit matches in the card/PPV without the rivalries resetting? Or changing a title match at a PPV which was lead by a rivalry (Rollins and Reigns were in a feud, then at the PPV it's listed as a title match rather than a rivalry match) without it changing?

P.S. Did anyone else had a bug were the same song played non stop? I had "Break it Down" (dx theme) playing for like 15 minutes while i was editing universe mode following the DLC issues.

Hopefully this includes all instances of this in general, because it happened in most CPU vs CPU FCA matches and any other type of match where countouts had no effect. Just a loop where one would whip the other diagonally into the ringside for about 2 minutes.

"Weight detection now functions properly against Super Heavyweight Custom Superstars"

I'm hoping we eventually get a detailed description on how this works at all.

I manually edited every wrestler pin escape. I mean, I dropped it to 1 for some guys. The highest I have it I believe is at 20, and that's for the Undertaker and John Cena.

Also I think it was either on here or on 2K forum's, but I saw that if you leave the stamina cost and stamina recovery at default, the CPU stays very aggressive.

I left him at Overall 62 and I still manage to win every match even against guys who are rated in the high 80s and 90s. The pinning system needs to be more difficult. I tried tinkering with every rating/slider in the game since the first day wwe 2k16 released and nothing stops me from kicking out. It is so rare for me to lose. For every 20 matches I play, I'll lose 2.
That sucks. I know I've changed the way over played from trying to win every match to just putting on great matches. As far as my career, I pretty much know I'll plow through that for achievements and titles.

FYI, you can edit your posts instead of replying to correct yourself.

You should see an Edit button on your posts. Lower-right corner.

I'd assume this is the last patch, unless they there's an issue with the Showcase DLC like they had with the Universe stuff and the Future Stars pack.

Just imagine rarely ever losing in any other sports game or even never failing or dieing in a shooting/mission game. What would be the point of playing if you already know the OUTCOME?
I find the pinning system to be fair enough this year but I can see how it would ruin the game when you perfect the timing.

In past games, where the pin mechanic was even easier, I'd set ground rules for myself to make the game more challenging. Mainly, any time I was pinned after a finisher, I'd close my eyes until I heard the 2-count, and it made it relatively difficult to lock in and kick out once I opened them.

Making the pin meter more difficult for LEGEND Difficulty shouldn't be hard to do. If NBA 2k16 can adjust the difficulty of the 3pt shooting. Then I don't see a problem with making the pin meter harder.
Very valid point. Seems like there could easily be options put into place to determine a preferable functionality of that mechanic.

Apparently I suck at it, because I'm always pretty stoked when I kick out from a finisher with no energy left.

I think this patch has introduced even more bugs into Universe Mode. I have an Attitude Era Universe running (Raw Is War on Monday, Nitro on Tuesday pretending it's Monday, Smackdown on Thursday, and Thunder on Friday pretending it's Thursday, with WCW PPVs on the second to last Sunday and WWF PPVs on the last Sundays of every month), and the following things have happened to me just today ...
  • Stone Cold turned heel ... even though I have the "Crowd Reaction Changing" option set to Off.
  • Several status effects seem to switch in and out of existence for no discernible reason. For example, D'Lo Brown was on a cold streak after a match on Raw, but then he wasn't on the following Raw despite having no matches in-between.
  • None of the Rivalries I have set up for Smackdown work at all. Every match is a regular match ("Match #1, Match #2, etc.), and after the show, the Rivalries screen still reflects that the rivalries have advanced a week. Strangely, the matchups for the rivalries are still occurring correctly, but the game refuses to "count" them. (For example, Trish and Lita are in a rivalry and have faced each other twice, but neither match is shown to have happened on the Rivalries screen.)
  • A Rock/Mankind rivalry simply disappeared for no reason. This was supposedly fixed in the patch, but it happened anyway.

... and that's just the new problems. There are still holdover issues (for example, Nitro has the incorrect number of matches despite having a roster large enough to accommodate the number I chose).

Oh yeah, and I can confirm that they STILL haven't fixed the "Stone Cold Said So" Trophy glitch that's been in the game since release.

This patch has removed custom entrance music from last gen. It is not longer a selectable option during custom entrance editing. Ive youve assigned a custom theme, that entrance will now freeze and lock up the game.
