NBA 2K16 Patch #5 Available For PlayStation 4 & Xbox One - Details Included

NBA 2K16 patch #5 is available now for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in preparation for the Road To The Finals 2K Pro-Am tournament. Check out the rest of the details below.

Fixed an issue where users were able to equip mascot costumes despite not having the appropriate rep level in MyPARK.
Addressed a game disconnect that would sometimes occur during scrimmage games in MyCOURT when there are spectators.
Fixed an issue that was causing unwanted ankle breaker reactions on defenders who were standing in good defensive position.
Resolved a rare case where a Pro-Am Arena game would stall out on the loading screen.
(PS4) Adjusted the �How Much Ya Got?� requirements such that a maximum salary offer will unlock the Trophy (regardless of how many years the contract offer is for).
Added �Player of the Week� and �Player of the Month� panels to the MyPARK leaderboards.

They added a whole new game mode, that's why it's large. Not really a bug-fixing patch. Waiting this long to download a feature I'll never use is a hard pill to swallow though.

Lol, more hyperbole. I played video games before and after the Internet. The Internet didn't ruin anything. Now I pay with friends spread out across the country. Couldn't do that without Internet. Also, being able to download patches is awesome. Back in the day you had to live with that broke game.

only nba 2k would release a 2 gb patch for absolutely nothing....im done after this year and it hasnothing to do with this....here is what i think is most important to them now...selling you VC 1st priority.....turning it into call of duty tournament trash...it will be funny to watch a bunch of people fumbling around while the ball is knocked loose constantly and the gameplay resembles rugby instead of a basketball game.goodluck 2k i personally think your to lazy to pull it off....

I get what he's saying though. It ruined it as far as giving too many people a voice.

Now, I'm all for community, I'm all for online multi player, and patches to fix games are awesome. The problem becomes core audience vs. Casual players. Your core audience wants fixes for X reasons, your casual players want opposite.

Just look at 2k16. One group will tell you shooting is broken because they miss a wide open shot. The other will tell you it's fine because this accurately depicts the fact that even the best shooters are not guaranteed to hit every shot.

Every aspect of the game, and most games, are like this now. I went into gamestop yesterday, and the clerk was telling me how everyone is talking about Live being better than 2k this year. When I asked what the common opinion was (after nearly doing a spit take), He said that "Shooting is better, ball handling is better, etc".

The squeaky wheel gets greased, so to speak. In this age, Enough people complaining can change a game. This change can be better or worse. If enough people complained about something, and I mean enough that It looks like it would hurt 2k's bottom line, it'll get changed within reason. These are companies. They want $$$. If it looks like something will prevent them from obtaining money they will make sure it gets changed.

OS is a small community. On the grander scale Facebook, Reddit, Youtube, and Twitter are massive entities compared to here. For every one person that likes how the game works, and understands why it's programmed the way it is from a basic basketball perspective there are probably 15 that do not. They don't care about using a pick and roll, or a floppy set to get Thompson open. They only see Curry cross up 2 guys and bury a 3 in someone's eye. When the game doesn't allow for that every posession it is "broken". That forces 2k to try to appease the majority since there's more dollar signs in those 15 people, than our 1 person. I can't even blame them either, since they are a business.

That is how the internet is/has ruined gaming, among other ways

Can anyone explain what the issue is with post game replays on PS4? From what I understand they work fine on XB1 and PC, so what's the deal. I play tons of sports games on my PS4 and memory never seems to be a problem for any of them, so why this game?

Can someone at 2k please acknowledge this issue and provide an explanation? Last year I was bummed, this year I'm relatively angry about it. Kinda feel duped honestly, because they clearly knew there was an issue with this console and nothing ever gets mentioned about it.

I don't know, maybe most people don't care about watching the highlights, but it's always been one of my favorite things about the game. I hate stopping the flow of a game to watch replays, so when I make a good play my first thought is "I can't wait to see that in the post game".

Just me?

PS4 recording problems are probably an engine issue that they can't fix without reworking a lot of stuff. I wouldn't expect the replays to function properly with full quarters until PS5 is out

Definitely not just you. This has been my biggest gripe with the game. Post game replays are a thing of beauty and a really fun and gratifying part of the game. Without them I feel a little less immersed and a little ripped off honestly...especially when 2K's response to my reporting of this issue was, "we only deal with technical issues within the game, such as missing items, or glitches, and things of that nature"...as if this isn't a technical issue/glitch and not an example of their product not working as it was intended...and as it does on other consoles. Seems like they see highlights not working as a non-issue...for the third year in a row.

There are wayy too many offline players on this forum... I don't think I've ever even played MyGM or MyLeague.

And what's the deal with this patch? What happened to the RTTF Tourney? And why aren't Pro Am rankings updating?

And I've never played mycareer or proam or mypark or whatever online modes there are in any iteration of 2K...And I've been playing 2k since '07

Too many offline players? What does this even mean? Everyone has the right to have a good/great game if they've paid for it.

While I respect those that want to play 2K as a RPG, I play and enjoy playing 'Season Modes', and don't see how/why this makes similar players' voice any less relevant.

Dammit, still no fixes for MyGM/MyLeague modes?

That dish to open man tendency problem has ruined MyGM mode for me.

(i.e. the one where generated players who aren't point guards always get a reeeally low "dish to open man" tendency, which makes every generated player's APG really low)

Well, at least I don't feel like I'm being too ridiculous about it then. As much as I enjoy most things about the game, I'd be willing to not buy it next year if they still haven't made any attempt to fix this issue. Sucks, but a man has to draw a line in the sand somewhere I guess. Not like they'll miss my business but I'll feel better about it.
