MLB 15 The Show News Post

MLB 15 The Show simulated Game Three of the 2015 World Series (watch the video here), as the scene shifted back to Citi Field in the Big Apple. While the Mets got out early, the Royals were able to get to Noah Syndergaard and scratch out a 4-2 win in a pivotal Game Three.

Travis d’Arnaud opened the scoring in the second with home run to straight away center of KC starter Yordano Ventura.

At the time, it looked like that single run might en enough, as Syndergaard had cruised through the first two innings. But, the rookie ran into immediate trouble in the third. Alex Gordon led off with a triple and Alex Rios went opposite field on the next pitch for a two-run homer. The Royals then loaded the bases, and only a spectacular double play turn by Wilmer Flores and Daniel Murphy limited the damage to two runs.

The two teams then traded sacrifice flies. Yoenis Cespedes tied the game in the bottom of the third, and Rios untied things with a fly ball in the top of the fourth.

The score remained 3-2 until the ninth, when Eric Hosmer, whose sac fly ended Game One, went deep for an all important insurance run.

The Mets would put two on with two out in the bottom of the ninth, but Wade Davis got the final out to preserve the 4-2 victory.

Game 4 is Saturday night, and MLB 15 The Show will be back with another simulation recap and highlights.
