MLB 15 The Show News Post

MLB 15 The Show simulated Game One of tonight’s World Series (watch the video here), and the Royals’ Lorenzo Cain once again provided the late game heroics, tripling home two runs in the bottom of the eighth to give Kansas City a 3-1 victory.

Royals’ starter Edinson Volquez pitched in and out of trouble all night long. In the third, Daniel Murphy doubled off the top of the wall, narrowly missing what homering in a seventh straight postseason game. Adding insult to injury, a perfect KC relay nailed David Wright at home plate, keeping the game scoreless.

On the flip side Matt Harvey proved worthy of his selection as the game one starter, keeping the Royals off balance all night long. He struck out seven and allowed only four hits in seven innings.

The Mets finally broke through in the sixth, when Travis d’Arnaud homered to center. The lead was short lived. Armando Rios tripled in the bottom half of the inning, and ALCS MCP Alcides Escobar tied things up with a sacrifice fly.

In the bottom of the eighth, Escobar started the rally with a single and moved to second on a Ben Zobrist walk. Cain then split the gap in left-center, plating both runs and sending the crowd into a frenzy.

New York didn’t go down without a fight, putting the tying runs on base with one out in the ninth, but Wade Davis was able to get the final two outs and lock down the Game One victory.

Stay tuned for results from the Game Two simulation, as MLB The Show will be providing simulations for each game throughout the series.
